Loved this show when it first aired and love re-watching it today. A show worthy of a remake/re-imagining.

This show was far to good to go away far to early. Thank you for your comment, and I hope you enjoyed our video. I agree with you. This show needs to be looked at again, but brought back in a respectful way. This show was too good back in the day to just remake without any care. It needs to be given proper respect to be done correctly. But I would love to see it remade.

@@scifiandmore one of the most underrated aspects to me was the pilot cockpit being separate from the ships. This is something a great many franchises should have looked at rather than having basically air ejection sheets that leave pilots with no protection or even atmosphere to breath.

Wow so cool Babe!. I am very happy to see this great patriotic actor R. Lee Ermeycni included in your video. He seems like a mean guy, I had the pleasure to met him twice while I was on active duty. He cared so much for us sailors, and the rest of the military service men and women. The first time I saw him was at Kadena AFB,I was stationed in Japan, briefly, and the second time we met in Kuwait at Ali AL Salim Joint Expeditionary Base. He was an awesome human being and very kind, contrary to his characters played on movies. I got pictures with him. He was a great man...Thanks again for bringing down to memory lane. 😘😊

Thank you for a very kind reply to Mrs. Sci-Fi and Mores comment. I myself never had the honor to meet R Lee Ermey when I was still in the Navy. I saw him and heard him speak at the Marine Corps marathon. However, my wife met him twice and has always said that he was a fantastic human being. I appreciate the comment, thank you again and have a great day. Mike

Love this video! Thanks!! This show was really awesome. When you think about what they tried to do with it - as a TV show in the 90s - they were very ambitious, and as far as I’m concerned, very successful. The expansive, well thought out and stitched story, the attempts at military realism, the interesting political thriller aspects - it was super, and a better class of show than its peers. Thanks also for the R. Lee Ermey bio - I learned a lot! And btw, I didn’t know they filmed in Australia. Excellent! They need to reboot this show, or pick up where they left off. They did it with the X-Files!

@J_321Ignition I would be completely up for a remake, not a reboot, and not a reimagining. But just a remake. This show was just straight up fun.

What about the Star Trek TOS episode, The Omega Glory? Best 4th of July episode ever.

This was such a great show, that had some great elements. Even though the AI rebellion thing has been done before and since I felt it was a well-balanced element that itself created the 'Tanks' which became another issue. The young Characters had been affected by these issues but they had all been affected in different ways and to different degrees. It didn't have countless species like Star Trek or Babylon 5, but this felt like a universe that we could somehow relate to. I would love to see this show remade with the tone and style of The Expanse.

Never got to see this, kinda like how I didn't get to see Firefly. Will have to make time for both someday 🤖

Both of those shows, Space above and beyond, and Firefly were fantastic, in my opinion. They are very different shows. Firefly was more like a western in space. But ultimately they both suffered the same single season fate. But definitely check them out. Well worth the watch.

Wow! I never saw "Space Above and Beyond", but I am familiar with a lot of the source material. Great concepts, but possibly a bit too complex for the general public. Cheers, Rik

Welcome back my friend. Space Above and Beyond was a fun show. I think you may be right in your assessment. The show was very deep and had some incredible elements to it. But it was a complex storyline, that unfortunately got rushed to tell the complete story in one season versus the original five seasons that it was planned for in addition to all the other oprtions that were our there at the time that had a much stronger draw on viewers like the X-Files and Star Trek Voyager. But if you ever have the chance to check it out, I think you will really enjoy it. Have a great day my friend, and as always, thank you for your continued support of the channel.

Never watched this series. The use of "reptiles" as adversaries is way over used/overdone. The proverbial battles as well. Been reading scifi since 2nd or 3rd grade up till now. So many old books that would be great movies even series. This series seemed to be a mash up of several elements of good stories slapped together as they went along...lol! Alien life forms are difficult, although one episode of, Stat Trek, TOS, "Devil in the Dark" was a good one! So was the alien in, "Metamorphosis". Star Trek TNG had a good one as well, a crystalline life form that was inadvertently causing some deaths.

Danica Patrick date a lizard person. She is talking about it on her podcast. Guess they didn’t teacher her how to win at racing cars.
