2:25 What!? canonically the Calaklum is 520 metres and the Apocalix is 1240, this is clearly not correct, the Apocalix is behind the Calaklums and still dwarfs them, canonically they are of similar heights, the Apocalix looks almost 6 times as tall as this and that is when it is behind and therefore appears smaller than it really is, the scale is so mucked up.

SBY scaling is usually not good, especially in 2202. Probably budget for animating thousands and missiles of Calaklums were too high lol

Always liked the ships of the WCE. Thier ships look bad ass and lethal...unlike gamilon ships in the original and the reboot which look rather ridiculus (In my opinion) The EDF ships have always been awesome looking as well, from the Destroyers on up thru to their Battleships and Carriers.

@@Beuwen_The_Dragon I just always had the opposite feeling, I've never liked the Gamilon ships, either in the original or the reboot. I think it's because they have too much of that "Buck Rogers" aesthetic going on. Fortunately, regardless of my anti-Gamilon leanings, the show itself is awesome and the new one is incredible. Thank You Japan for a wonderful series that has entertained me for so many years. And thank you sir for your comment. :)

Some info sites say only one variant survived, none of the flagships, with some Gamilas versions, Berger's ship. In 2205, there's the intertwine remains of a Andromeda class ship inside the Gorba station.

Space Battleship Yamato requires a suspension of disbelief. But the Gatlantean homeworld is a bridge too far. Its the size of Jupiter. Anything of that mass would significantly disrupt the orbits of the planets it came into contact with like Saturn. I think the writers of 2202 ran into the same problem that JJ Abrams had with Star Wars the Force Awakens.

Aye, 2202 got a little too carried away with outrageous scaling of engagements and enemy numbers. Plus the sword thingies are weird.. I preferred when they stuck to ship-to-ship battles and fighter/bomber craft.
