@@yurboiherambae9313 I would argue Boy Wonder could be one of the early events in the timeline, because of the "happy" tone and the mention of negotiations. Since Kill All Xenos mentions that, at first, the human race acted as a diplomat, sharing its culture with the other races.

To them it looks like this kid is somehow bringing all this wealth and prosperity out of nowhere. perhaps it's not even a song of the people's perspective while all this is happening but propaganda instead but i like the clueless population idea more

It's like Wars Of Expansion and Kill All Xenos tell the same events from different perspectives. While Kill All Xenos is self-reflective, questioning the need for this war; Wars of Expansion embraces the war, the narrator embraces the thing they have become.

I got a different take. Same events, but I view it as one of 2 ways. Either from two different humans.... or One human at the start of the war, and then years later after being through the thick of it many times and having his views changed.

Kill all xenos seems like an in the middle of the war perspective of human and alien combatants and this is like the propaganda the new human regime is spouting back home to justify the xenocide

i'm the same with the idea that they're from other perspectives. I feel wars of expension is from the perspective of the general or commander giving out the orders and enjoying his easy victories. Kill all xenos is the perspective of the ground soldier who didn't know he was being send to kill the peacefull aliens and regrets everything that is happening, and then boy wonder is the people; clueless about what's happening this leader is somehow creating all this wealth and prosperity

I think that the kill all xenos was a trooper of the security detail of the diplomatic core. Seing as they were always send first until they were made redundant by the galaxy wide war. This one i think its from a drop trooper. seing as he mentions decending on a shuttle after orbital bombardment and then being on the frontline. Probably made a military career during the war of expansion.

Or, put differently : those which did not want enough to survive died before reproduction. I don't see any "natural duty" here, just genetics and the hazards of life. I have no idea what it is about this song but it's like you're right there, watching it happen. It's both amazing and scary. Amazing because my mind vividly plays back an epic sci-fi story, but it's scary for the same reason, because at least Starship Troopers and 40k grants you an excuse that allows you to cope. You do this to protect mankind and if you want to, you can easily convince yourself of it and ignore the red flags. This, though? That's putting mankind's capability for malice on full display and proudly so, with no excuse whatsoever. I hate and love it.

The day was warm and bright. Father was away to visit his brother in the capital. He wanted me to go with him. "We can go to the big game if we can make time," he had said. Mother wanted me to stay as she needed help with running the nursery. I turned down Father's offer as I did not want to travel back to the capital so soon. My academy was closed for commemoration week and I had just arrived the other day. My mother picked out my best working suit , told me to wear it and meet her in the nursery. Xenin shone in the sky brightly. "Proxima Centauri" I mumbled to myself. That's what the visitors called it. They had made contact just a year ago. It was all anyone could talk about. Primary apprehension of meeting them was overcome by the signing of the friendship treaty. They said that they were from Terra, a habitable planet in the "Solar System". The stories of their homeland were so fascinating that nobody questioned the positioning of their militaresque orbital ships above our skies. My uncle was the only one in the Council of Elders to voice concern. He was outvoted in the motion. With no support from anyone, my uncle requested the help of my father, an ex-member of the council, to go to the capital. He wanted father's help to change the mind of the council. I never really trusted the visitors. Something about them felt very unusual. They had difficulty breathing the same air as us. They never really showed any affection towards our art or engineering. Their leaders were mostly interested in the mineral contents of our planet. I walked down to the nursery. My mother had already begun to feed the plants the critters we had caught. As I began to help her, I got an uplifting thought. My life , I thought, was going to change for the better. It did change, only for the worse. In that split second, explosions rocked the very ground beneath us. Soon, above were ships flying past at breakneck speeds shooting anything that walked. We could see smoke rise from the distant towns. Somehow, we managed to make it back to our shelter. Through a hole, I peeked outside to see what was unravelling. Terran soldiers had landed on our nursery. I saw a familiar figure being tied and dragged to what looked like the commander of the squad. It was our neighbor. "WHY!?", shrieked our neighbor. The Terran replied in cold words," We have orders: KILL ALL XENOS." A shot rang and the body of our neighbor lay dead in the lawn. Now they turned towards the shelter. Moving in single line, they approached with confidence and surety that they would find more Xenos inside. Their dark figures, hissing and shoving aside anything that stood in their way. *This is my pathetic attempt at writing something for once. Feedback is much appreciated.
