I've been using survival kits on my miners so that any stone gets immediately turned into iron/nickel/silicon. Queue up 5000 ingots in each one and depending on how hard you're going you might need to stop every once in a while to let the stone clear through. This especially good in the very very early game when you're still building your first infrastructure. Also I've found that using small lights at max size and 1.5 intensity is less blinding with the dust than spotlights, but that's probably just personal preference. Nice builds!

I think the small ship mega mod pack has small block refineries and assemblers. So you can use small block basic refineries to clear the mined stone.
@DragonNationGaming5 жыл бұрын
It is a good idea to add interior lights around your ship to help with lighting. Spot lights were a lot more effective some time ago. I won't use production blocks on a mining ship for several reasons. I want to keep the ship as compact as possible, the stone and gravel just add more weight to the ship requiring more thrust and power, the stone and gravel use up cargo space that is better used on the useful ores, the survival kit is extremely slow and wouldn't produce enough resources in the short time to be useful.
@dustinandrews890195 жыл бұрын
@@DragonNationGaming I tested ejecting stone with a connector v.s. refining it in the Survival Kit, Basic Refinery and Refinery. It's marginally faster to eject stone that to refine it in the basic refinery. My conclusion is the same of yours. Ejecting stone is the best plan. Ideally you can use a port to eject the stone. It's much faster than even several small ejectors.

the frustrating part of your videos for myself,is the welding on your own part because sometimes you change things then mention it afterwords in the next segment I enjoy seeing and hearing you do, the as you go thinking and editing the design part which is the inspiration,perspiration, culmination part.

Because if I showed all that, it would require several very boring videos and a very sore throat from all the talking. Usually the talking I do in videos is the only talking I do all day. I've had a lot of sore throats since I started this channel. What I want people to take away from my videos is inspiration. I don't want people copying what I do. I want them to improve upon it. That's why I don't usually show the little changes I make to a creation.

The battery power is because you were not running your production modules at the moment. And yes, Isy's inventory manager works well. Just follow the guide for assembler "learning". Otherwise it builds the wrong items.
@DragonNationGaming5 жыл бұрын
I tested the power output before I had resources to process. Neither the assembler or the refinery were running. It's not the first time I've seen this issue. It's always been a problem to figure power requirements when using batteries.

I visited about 100 asteroids in my first survival game before I found one with Platinum and one with Uranium. The asteroids do often have two resources. Some of the deposits are deep inside, so you will want the large grid detector set to max range.

You could of used power modules on your assemblers and refinery to lower the required max power for them to operate at full production.

The more batterys the more efficient this is because they share the load. So they don't dump as much power do to the distribution of power.

And then you use up cargo space for more important ores. This miner is a one time use. One trip gets me all the ore I will need to build a large ship miner. It's useless to add any production to the ship.

still loving your videos.. but one thing i found realy effectiv in building the smaller ships like smal miners and fighters is just setting up a connected large welder(or 4).. You all ready have it on a rotor.. after rouging it out i just turn on the rotor and enable the welder.. makes building som much easier. Realy liked the ion engines you used.. gonna import that mod in to my save too.

I feel like people forget that you can get between 4 and 6 standard ores by processing stone. You probably would have way over your need of iron and silicon with just stone. Abundance of a resource I think?
@DragonNationGaming5 жыл бұрын
Not really. Stone only gets you a fraction of what you would get with the actual ore. Also, gravel still doesn't have much use. You would be mining a resource that you will never use.
