To help the wobble of the drills check the "Share Inertial Tensors" option. It makes the game calculate the piston head as having the mass of attached grid and chains between pistons. If your CPU load gets high from number of grids, world size, multiplayer, or ect the wobble causes the grid to self detonate.

@@daviddav5753 also an good tip is to use an gyro on override on top of the drill head, also nice build, this is an very good way to make plunge miners in a compact space
