I like it, really condensed down a lot of big systems like the interior and cannons nicely. I personally might try and put some seating in it instead of a bed and coffemaker, just to give it some personnel carrying capability, but to each their own.

I like it... Just needs more gun. Gunboats are typically over-armed to compensate for their small stature

I like the simplicity while still having a livable interior. I've been redesigning my survival flagship, turning it into somewhat of a carrier. Having a ship like yours with some A.I. blocks to have it fly in formation as CAS between jumps would be a fine addition. I'll be designing it with my own flare, though. My flagship will also utilize 2 primary projectors: First, a projector loaded with the BP of the non-Prototech design (for initial production in survival). Second, a projector with the Prototech refit, so that the ship can be upgraded as you acquire the blocks. Your ship has given me some ideas, and it seems like a solid design. Good work!

If you add relay, record (AI) And some latch/lock/park blocks to those AI ships you can have them as pocket/parasite ships while jumping, but you have to add ať least one additional jump drive

@StarWarsExpert_ ship that attaches to main ship, like if you make a corvette or gunship (gunship Is just smaller) you can transport them on Battlefield as heavy support fór main ship (screening, decoys, dogfights) they Are often more durable than heavy fighters

Looks more like a line breaker than a gun boat. Maybe a destroyer class type of ship. I agree with another comment, there isn't enough guns to make it a gun boat. It looks good. Very good points about its mass production. Cheap easy to build and repair. Nice ship. I will look for this on the workshop.

Historically "Gunboat" meant a boat that was the bare-minimum to fire a heavy gun without sinking itself, so something small. This is slightly more than the bare-minimum. In tank warefare a "Line Breaker" meant a slow super-heavy tank that would approach and destroy the enemy trenches. It was imagined after seeing WW1 trench warfare, there were various prototypes but they were extremely ineffective during WW2. In Naval, you would need speed, but also decent durability to survive charging the enemy and being surrounded, and decent firepower against large ships, so a dedicated line breaker would be very similar to a general combat ship. In SE, still implies you are getting close and breaking up their formation with your presence, so probably something with turrets. The ships with mainly forward firepower would be the line-ships you are trying to break. A "Destroyer" was meant to destroy small boats, aircraft, submarines, but NOT capital ships. So in SE that would meant an all gatling turret ship.

I don't know where you got your historical information from. Gunboats was used more commonly near the late 1700s. It referred to small fast vessels with one or more guns. Your explanation is correct except any vessel with a gun mounted, it was considered a gun boat. Next, the destroyer. It is larger than a frigate. Smaller than a cruiser. In navel terminology, the destroyer is a fast, maneuverable, long-endurance vessel, used to escort larger vessels in a fleet, convoy, or carrier battle group and defend those ships from a large general range of threats. I am also well aware of what a breach runner is in modern times. We don't always use tanks these days. You are correct that the vehicle will be heavily armored. What would make this Gunboat in this video a breach runner is its small profile with most of its weapons directed forward. Adding heavy armor blocks to the front, if it doesn't already have, would make it an effective breach runner.

It looks really good! Would love to see it in action. Also, as a suggestion, I noticed the whole ship's cabin vents when opening the main door. Maybe you could add a nother door perpendicular to the first one, in parallel with the hull. This way you have another door before opening the one giving you access to the cabin, without taking space from it.

@@bluebird_21_SE In this instance I thin you could replace the curved armour panel in front of the door with a window panel, they're all air tight for a cheap airlock system.

Looks great. Needs more Dakka. Like how simple and cheap it is - good pilot placement. Might need better armor arrangement since it relies on light armor blocks but I’d build it.

this might not sound fair from a tonnage point of view but this wont even defeat my freighter as long as the AI or whoever pilots it selects targets and it too can go into planets but without relying entirely on hydrogen. It can really lift. In order to make an anti capital large ship type you need heavy armour which means you wont be going to planets while an on planet solution is wheeled. I have a very old spawnship concept of similar mass to yours with the idea of a small ship focused on assault but the internal layout is much worse to fit everything.

If it Is meant to be used as Mass, I would put in relay, And most of AI blocks, it would work as escort fór short distance haulers or big ships, I would definitevly add connectors, And gunships, in Space combat, Are often used as pocket corvetes, against small craft. But I have question, why don't you build a dockyard?

@@bluebird_21_SE you can use this as a kind of heavy fighter if you dock with a bigger ship to carry you long distances. Build 4-5 of them and you have relatively cheap strike force.
