I love how 60% of the Earthlike planet is usually flat-ish terrain and yet the drop pod always chooses to land on the side of a mountain.

my earth landing is more flat than minecrafts flatlands.... exept if i count the huge grand canyon 5km further.... that thing is huge, and i actualy want to try and let my rover jump it XD, or i could make a very cool bridge

I heard a legend that one drop pod actually landed on a flat terrain but i think this is only a myth...

Turns out, if you start on the moon, using the thruster on the bottom of the rover, you can blast far enough that you leave the moons gravity, and head towards earth. If you land on the side of a mountain you can then start with a rover on earth xd

I’ve died on starting a survival, as the drop pod has bounced all the way down a mountain, at least you had a pod left.....at least for a little while lol.

I kind of like the slow, challenging start. I once made up my own scenario where I crash land on the alien planet in an ion thrust ship after getting trapped in the gravity well and all of my tools are lost. I have to sit in the remains of my crashed ship to survive and hope the 'unknown signals' have tools. That's maybe a bit TOO slow of a start, but I did appreciate the challenge.

Incredibly late, but at the beginning where you need to be able to construct a gyroscope, there was the option to construct a remote control instead of a cockpit. This could have saved more time. 👍

gyro requires cockpit because of progression 4:50

Wow.. You picked a fairly dangerous style of flying Respawn Pod upgrade! :D You can convert the pod into a safe & decent flyer in a few minutes if your starting location isn't great... Nice flying tho!

If you grind off the hydrogen thruster at the bottom of the pod, you can get 4 grids, which you can use to make 4 thrusters. Alternately, if you have access to ice, you can grind off the atmo-thrusters and use the hydrogen thruster for upward thrust ...

Accidentaly modded a different landing pod or all planets, turns out I gave myself an edge with a rover drop pod. now I have a base on an ice lake.

Your supposed to set up a starter base and use base drills connected to your refinery to get stone without mining manually!

The drop pod spawns turned off. You got to turn it on so the gear sticks. Computers is key "Y"

The reason survival start is so rough and slow is because its geared toward multiplayer not solo.
