A over complicated ship printer I made for the ion cannon facility. it wasn't supposed to be this, but eh, why not. I started this a day after I posted the Ion Cannon video, so like 6 days total. its got a few bugs, but it works most of the time!

This and the mech factory are by far the two coolest so far. But you know what would be even cooler? A needlessly complicated factory like this, that can build more than one ship blueprint.
@ApologiesSE
@ApologiesSE 2 жыл бұрын
Oof. every blueprint you add would make the programing worse, not to mention the limits on all your arms. I'm not sure ill ever attempt that, but i do have a workaround in mind, just much less complicated :P
@craftboy338
@craftboy338 2 жыл бұрын
@@ApologiesSE Oh absolutely, just this build alone must already be immensely complicated. In order to construct a new blueprint you'd have to design another ship who's specifications and dimensions still fit within the movement range of all the arms, writing an entirely new script for which would only be further compounded by the smaller pieces that get attached later on needing to follow the same rule but in tighter confines. A machine like this is already very impressive, one like this with even two blueprints would be insane, anything more is downright ludicrous. Still cool to think about how it might work tho :)

Another FANTASTIC factory as always, Apologies! I do hope that you considered the idea of designing more brilliant factories that can be added to a server on survival mode. Heck, your designs could easily rival other major games simply because players can add resources, interact, difficulty of design, and protect from and/or destroy rival players' factories.
@ApologiesSE

@@ApologiesSE I am not asking for something as magnificent as your Ion Cannon Facility, just suggesting that if your factories can be mind-destroying complex, then designing factories that focus on efficiency and production speed would be no problem for you. I'm sorry if I'm being too much to ask. I am simply beyond impress with your work and hope that maybe you could design a printer or factory that is efficient and/or quick to produce units. There are several printer designs and concepts, but none have been even close to the speed of your designs. I'm just one of the many players of Space Engineers who's simply awed and shocked by your creations and skills. A simple fan with a simple suggestion, no more and no less than that.

@@twistedtataryn Not in actuality. I'm just giving the idea that Apologies' best and most valuable builds require more grandiose decors, more resources, and are more rarer (few) in numbers. While his simpler and expendable builds are cheap and quick, like quick-build hover bikes. It's just an idea of players racing towards better equipments and rare resources, and establishing stronger bases of operations. This actually adds more significant value in Apologies' factories since they would be primary targets for both allies and enemies, making very intense battles for territory control. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if Apologies designed a factory that can build jaegers from Pacific Rim, like Gipsy Danger.

You should build a factory that can make modular ships next. Always starts with the same base structure but can have a wide range of components attached for a variety of uses. Need a mining ship? Here’s a set of drills and an expanded cargo bay with stronger thrusters for the weight. A fighter? Sure, have a streamlined hull with an array of weapons and enough thrusters to out maneuver any opponent. You need a freighter? We’ll slap a cargo module on every side with just enough thrusters to get you where your going.

Damn was that clean. Makes you wonder at the potential of this game if it weren't for all the weird physics jank and bugs.

Review: If there is one thing i can say this guy dose well, its design create factories. Its a marvel to watch and adds scope for custom modular construction. I hope to see a lot more of these in future, with a large repertoire or flexible scope in what ships it creates, so long as those designs fit within his construction framework. Maybe there should be a nem for this sort of SE scontruction platform?

Seeing all these automated factories i'm starting to dream about space engineers as an RTS. Only imagine: Every player got their flagship, shipyards, etc, and they could command them to build various ships of various sizes! God, thank you for all the people, who are actually manage to make such difficult mechanisms!

If only stuff like this could be multi-purpose. I would happily build this if I could build any ship in it! The process is so cool! Maybe someday....... I wonder if you could build a ship that eats other ships? Like that one dude from that transformers movie. Unicron? Idk

AMAZING! Maybe as food for thought: Building a complete ecosystem: Factory like you just showed us; the product itself in a way it can easily be disassembled in the "pre-fab" parts; some maintenance facility that does said disassembling for (manual) inspection and minor repairs or replacement + reassembly. That would be even more next level (and a possible source for Clang, of course). As background story: I play the same szenario Kanajashi is just having a play-through and it uses the "all scrap" mod. So not grinding something down because it is slighty out of shape makes sense, as you loose precious resources while doing so.
