I think Space Funeral could make for an interesting animated film or show. You may be thinking “but the whole point is making a commentary on video games” and to that I say that with a little tweaking to the story elements, you could easily make it a commentary about how a lot of animation studios and creators try to go for stale perfection in their art. In the game, Moon’s corruption of the land was because she couldn’t make anything that matched the perfection of the City. So in an animated movie the City would represent the Disney style of art that’s very good but generally isn’t experimental, and the art style of the corrupted land would be reminiscent of the indie animators that popped up in rejection of those philosophies like Ralph Bakshi, Yellow Submarine, and so on.
@daltonbecker44943 жыл бұрын
I would go for a early 2000's Newgrounds flash cartoon look for the "corrupted" part, something like Arfenhouse. Ralph Bakshi and Yellow Submarine still look too "clean" for Space Funeral.

there was a period of my life last year where this song was stuck in my head for a month. during that time, i went to a house party after the semester ended just for the chance to hang out with a girl i had a thing for. we stood in the backyard waiting for our food and talking among ourselves and our small circle of friends that showed up, watching as a couple of friends kick a comically small soccer ball around. one of them kicked it over a fence and had to jump it to get it back. i remember feeling vaguely melancholy since a few friends had just graduated and i wouldn't be seeing them as much anymore. the sun was setting and the girl i'd come to see was so pretty i could barely look at her. i sat next to her and talked about music and got her number, all while this song played in my head. the combination of excitement at seeing her and discomfort at being out of my comfort zone at a party i think has forever entwined this song and that experience. i dunno why i'm writing this. just another weirdly vivid story and vision to go along with this song i suppose

I had a dream last night. All I could see was a desolate wasteland, with some dead trees and bushes, some rocks here and there. All was very fuzzy, but I could still comprehend my surroundings. I saw a figure walking in the distance. I wasn't actually there, I was merely a witness to the scene. Then, this song started to play, resonating into my head. This song reminds me of a night I spent drinking with friends a few months ago. It was fantastic. Most of us hadn't seen each other since before Covid, but we all got into the familiar motions of conversation together very easily. It was the first cold night of the season and most of us weren't prepared, but we toughed it out. There were many conversations about what we all had been up to since college. Although it was great at the time, the memory is painted with sadness because most of us don't live in the same state anymore and I don't know when we'll see each other again. I'm glad I had that night with them.

White awakening puts me to sleep By singing a lullaby for my peace of mind.

the wandering fugitive walks exhaustedly to no place in particular, the weight of his chains no longer a bother to him. pointedly, he takes a cigarrette box from his shirt pocket. it's crumpled and fraying at it's well worn edges. he notices his scabbed wrists, his shackles having cut into him. he smiles, then flips the lid of his only friend. "the last one...the only one", he says to himself with a bit of relief. with shaking hands he raises his final goodbye to his lips and lights it with care. the smoke fills his lungs and he collapses to the ground and cries bittersweet tears. the wind blows through what trees are left in the wastes of what once was and sweeps him away, never to be seen again

You don't know where you're going, but you're still going and that's all that matters. You'll get somewhere eventually, just keep going

You've been going for a long time. Every now and then you see signs telling you that "you're almost there!" and "just keep going!", like your destination is right around the corner. But all you ever reach is another sign.

it's 3:47am in Los Angeles. Your friends ditched you an hour ago in a shitty night club, and upon realizing they're not coming back, you leave. There's no cabs to be had, so you walk. You walk and walk until you find yourself on an overpass. You climb up onto the lip and take a seat, pulling a cigarette out of you pocket and lighting it. You contemplate how bad a fall to the asphalt would really be.

This just reminds me of all the shit I’ve been through in my life, from the forced medication to being treated like a freak by everyone, down to my fucked up imagination acting as a mental scab over the years of abuse I’ve experienced. Feels bad, man, but for some reason I always have hope it’ll get better, that at some point I can just leave home and get a job and my own place. Maybe, some day far off from now, I’ll be living a quiet life and forget all of this bullshit and worry about simpler things, but for now... I’m just in this pit, and this pit has become my home, for the time being. Come visit the pit every once in awhile, we have cookies and shower water.

this song makes me think of someone, they stare up at their ceiling in the dark. they haven’t been able to get out of bed for days, they haven’t eaten. they don’t know what time it is, what day it is, who they are. just suffocating in their isolation and depression

this song feels like getting four hours of sleep in three days, still being behind on your coursework, and finding your head too heavy to lift. You know you should stop crying on your notebooks, the tears will smudge your writing, but you don't even have the energy to move a bit and collapse onto the floor.

I awake in the basement, everyone was a skeleton. They were sad, I made them happy. Our daily Routine was to dance, they couldn’t move on their own. How they danced, perfectly with my movements. I met my wife there, her hair was as Golden as an egg. One day I brushed her hair to this song, her head fell off. Her head fell off Her head fell off I put it back on and resumed brushing. I sleep in the basement, for the next waking.
