Still bummed that they didn't include the 1979 version of Space Invaders (with the multi-colored aliens) on both this and the Micro Player Pro as a second game. I'm patiently waiting for the price to drop to at least $25.00 before purchasing, since it's for just one game.

@@mikeburkhart8336 I was 12 in 1978. I was a very early fan of game arcades, even before Space Invaders came out. An upright Space invaders appeared at a local burger joint in 78 and I spent hours watching kids with more money than me feeding the machine.

I might have to pick this up. I had a handheld Space Invaders when I was Little Andy. It had left and right directional buttons and a fire button. I can't remember the size of the screen but it was small and all the graphics were red. It wasn't running the arcade ROMs of course but it was a Space Invaders game. And of course when other "Littles" came over they wanted to play Space Invaders, as well as Tron, and Scramble. Those were the days.

These static screen games on the Pocket Player Pro are a perfect match. They're still a bit pricey across here in the UK but cool nonetheless. Great review as always :-) Keep up the awesome work!

I like my mini keychain one from a few years back. Solder leads from the joystick to the dip switches and you can also play PacMan, Ms. PacMan, and Galaga depending what direction you hold on startup (although it wipes the high score).

Cool that it has a vertical screen! Makes a difference with certain games like this. They should do this with Centipede too. Nice that these have USB C power so you can save on batteries. Space Invaders and Asteroids were so amazing to see in arcades after only seeing Pong for a while back in the day. Very cool that this version has the attract screen! Most emulators don't bother to put that stuff in so it's nice of them to include that here. Would be nice if these things kept the high scores, especially when they only have one game on them. Should be room on the chips for it. The micro mini arcade cabinets are cute and look good on a shelf, but aren't as easy to actually play as these pocket players are. Nice that your merch shop has so much variety. More than most youtube channels do.

Wow, the art on this is amazing! Next to Pac-Man, the arcade cabinet is one of my all-time favorites. This really captures the nostalgia of the arcade machine.

The revival of interest in the 2600 (in the last few months) makes me feel that the variations introduced to the game in that version should be appreciated as a kind of sequel unto themselves: the arcade original is pretty grim, even compared to the "breadth and depth" of the 2600 version.

LOL yeah for me i was about 9 and it was in the entrances of our K-Mart, each entrance had two machines... can't remember what the others were. Just remember that Space Invaders !

I know they are doing a pole position later this year but I wish somehow they could do a San Francisco Rush handheld like this. i would buy every version as its my favorite racing game. Hopefully they can get to that one one day. Good reivew keep it up.

Mmmmh, the screen still doesn't convince me, in all honestly. Plus, at the actual state this is only for Space Invaders Die Hard Fans, because for a bit more of a price you can get a Hypermegatech Taito Edition with 18 arcade games installed and Space Invaders included, built in battery plus an Evercade cartridge slot. I still can't get the point about this release, considering the other option available now. 😐

I'm always advocating for arcade roms in these devices, yet here we are, and I wish this was the Atari 2600 version (and I would definitely get this if it was). I just can't be pleased.

Im happy with my Taito Superpocket ( plus evercade carts) . But Im really interested in the My Arcade stuff youve shown off. They seem quality. Hopefully they do more collections like the Atari

Looks good, but I prefer the Atari 2600 version of Space Invaders since that's what I grew up with so a lot of nostalgia for that version. Although I will play the Space Invaders Invincible Collection from time to time that's available for Nintendo Switch. That version is cool too but just not the same.

If you're only going to include one game, it would have been neat if they at least included different variations of Space Invaders like Atari did. Maybe have a list that says regular space invaders, invisible space invaders, etc. I love Space Invaders but it's too bad this is all you get.

No, it's just for external power.

@@GenXGrownUp Exactly, the micro usb cable is what was being used. Now My Arcade switched the cable to Usb-C to be able to use the device without using batteries. It's cheaper to not have to buy batteries. Why the need to have to force the user to have buy another plug just to be able to play the device.

Pretty sure I missed something - running it with the 4 AABattery-Option because I don't fully get that USB-C option. Does it have a built-in rechargeable battery too, or have you to leave it plugged in the whole time you want to play?

Powering with USB-C requires it to remain plugged in. To stay portable, I've heard of players just using a small power bank.

My Arcade quality is garbage for the price in my opinion. Licenses aside, the screen should be of higher quality for the price. Not to mentions that game count, buttons, input delay, and the battery compartment. This applies to all of their current products. Neat memory lane impulse buys, but you feel a bit cheated. If you are the person who loves these then cool, more power to you as it's your money my friend. No one can take that away, but valid criticism still applies.
