This was the last class I leveled and boy, between this class and Bulwark, they're super fun. I think Assault is definitely my favorite. The hammer is just so meaty and satisfying. Animation canceling the charged heavy is absolute destruction when clearing waves then procing Jet Pack ground pound 4 times in a row, chef's kiss. It definitely takes way more effort to play than the other classes by far. Can't wait to see what the devs decide to buff on this class.

Assault and Sniper are currently my fave classes, with vanguard a close 2nd. Sniper gets ahead of vanguard purely because it looks cooler (imo). Once you get into the rhythm with assault it feels epic.

@@Gribbstar I mean, it's a playstyle preference, like I felt this was easy too tbh. But it took a learning curve to go through to feel that way for sure. While other classes are somewhat natural. Also, what people think is easier, like the heavy with melta, that's straight up broken and will be fixed. With sniper, it does take skill, with bulwark, you got you trusty ol shield. With vanguard you got melta again. But doing it without a melta would again be harder for sure. Anyways. Thanks my for the watch my G!

Before you even swing your hammer, you have to clear all ranged minoris through ground pound or your pistol. Not doing this will lead to your experience where other classes seem easier. It's more of a strategy issue for you rather than a class issue

@@inexorablewarrior Yeah I feel ya with the tyrant... You can pretty much stunlock him with parries, but the horde make it impossible solo. I usually save some grenades, and when I see that the boss has reached that certain hp range, where the horde spawns I just run to it and spam all my nades on em. Ah, I just expected you to have the 50% I should have paid more attention >_< nevertheless GREAT RUN! And also I feel ya with the whole lag compensation, solo offline feels way different, when you are used to playing with ping. I feel like the melta hp nerf will atleast be a good thing. Seeing someone go from 0 to 100 in a second... while I'm there stuck at 30% hp is just nuts.

Learn the gene seed locations on a map and do average difficulty. About 1200 xp each run. The jump from average to substantial is pretty large

I haven't got the time yet to check which one that is or if it's all of them combined and also if it's on aoe or number of enemies hit. But yeah.. Waiting for the sparring arena.. @@johntucker23 well, tbh, it's like you have to play a 25 min+ op to get to a 5 min tyrant fight. Also, haven't played that mission enough for the same, saying that for the same reason that we need to fight it enough to learn the attack patterns also, with and without latency/ping issues.

My honest opinion after maxing out Assault is that it is most definitely not weaker than other classes, just more skill based and more engaging. Jumping, gun strikes, parries, well timed charged double aftershocks, y’all just need to be locked in.

It's fun, but apart from the ground pound with jump pack, there's nothing the class can do that others can't. Everyone can parry/dodge/gun strike. And even if you have bonuses on gun strikes, there's no real gameplay made available through the perks apart from doing what you can do on a vanguard but better for example. The class really lacks something to be able to throw big charged attacks and not being injured in the process, instead of just preventing you from being cancelled. The class should be THE melee class and nothing emphasizes around melee enough to make it more impactful.

You can't. Parry can animation cancel but dodge can't. So if you parry you have to wait until the parry animation is over before you can dodge. Punishes misreads where other games you can option select by pressing parry and dodge quickly.

Assault is fun to play but is much less effective then other class on hoards or single target dps as well as survivability. It’s not bad by any means but I do think it needs some tweaks and maybe an undated to the perk tree to have it be on the same level as other classes when it comes to how “good” it is. Still very fun to use the jump pack tho.

I also think it’s easier to play assault solo because you get to do all the executions. It’s one of the only survivability things assault can do ( other then the gun strikes) and in public matches other players will take them.

Well, tbh, for me it seems like every other class like heavy, vanguard and tactical are considered good because of the melta weapons. Bullwark has a crutch with the shield. Sniper is straight up broken id say. But in general, i feel you bud!

They will need to rely on executions too. Now i play with my friends, and if they're ranged, they know im in the meat of it and require executions which they leave for me. Another complaint i see is how many warriors are there. So i dont think getting enough executions in coop is also an issue.

@@inexorablewarrior the melta weapons are really good for close range which is why I think assault needs some kinda change. Meltas stun lock like crazy and bulwarks shield negates everything while assault you have to take the hits and hope to keep your armor up. Maybe if the hammer flinched enemies a little more it would be better. Just feels like you as assault you have to stay locked in the whole time to make it work while other classes are a lot more relaxed but just as effective. I wish some of the other guns were as good as the meltas but I think it’s the flinch that is making them feel so good as well as insta killing the shield guys that melee struggles with.

So yeah, devs have confirmed and this will be fixed in the next patch. Will have to see how they feel after that. Whereas I am with you on the stagger/stun they have, feels really nice.

That intro is great, but you should have cut to the Tactical doing the same thing with a melta hitting one button. Assault is a very fun class with a high skill ceiling, what makes him seem weak is that the other classes can do the same thing with a lot less effort

Every class struggles against the tanky chaos marines gunning you down except sniper unless you have the overpowered melta. So it's not the problem with class, it's that you choose the melta rifle which likely will be nerfed soon. Assault does have less gunstrikes against chaos but it still clears ranged minoris faster than any other class through its extended range

I don't really have any problems against chaos. I actually find them easier and more fun to fight Edit: The assault class uses hit and run tactics. If you're trying to just face tank damage you're playing it wrong. Which is a mistake I see a lot when people are talking about the class. I do agree with them though when they say the class does need work. Improve the jump pack and give me access to the plasma pistol and I think it would be great

I think the complaint was of them being too passive and they are but watching your gameplay you can see they just stand around tanking hits while you can take cover waiting for armor when needed while real players would have been downed, they also get a HP refill at each new area and full HP on pickup in that boss fight the AI just kept picking each other up and getting full health. its also literally in the Q/A that people are complaining Assault is less powerful. Just saying playing with bots isn't the same as playing with people thats all.

Nah, assault is still the weakest class. It's also kinda my favourite, maybe because it is objectively sub par and it makes me feel all special to beat a ruthless op with it. Is also a lot easier with bots than human players in my experience because they're not all stealing your kills and leaving you vulnerable. 😂
