Blade is S tier due to not the stats, but defence fencing. This is the only one which gives perfect parry big window + follow up gun strike. Balance can do that but without gun follow up. And block is block. Of course you can change variants of weapon, but fencing is the strongest one. Blade gets more of it, since fencing is standard for combat, which another upgrades will give only boost of stats, without downgrades. Not to mention not only vanguard, but actually many perks in multiplie classes takes advantage of gun strike, NOT TO MENTION THIS IS RECOVERING ARMOR with finish shot. if you are not playing emperor priest, you have to abuse parry, armor recovery mechanic during combat on tougher difficulties

The balanced Relic combat knife has so much attack speed you can just spam light attacks and parry and cheese your way through ANY content. With some of the Vanguard perks you can easy mode the game. Those big damage slow weapons just get you killed on higher levels.

I really don’t wanna say skill issue because vanguard takes skill to play. But the heavy hitting chainsword doesn’t get you killed at all. You just have to pick your fights and be smart about it, can’t Ooga booga in there and think you‘ll win. What works best for me is, using the fencing one combined with the melter. Clearing the trash with the melter and getting the bigger enemy’s with the chainsword. Didn’t get me killed yet in like 10 diff 4 missions didn’t die once. Only issue I had so far was the pistol strike, that only the enemy you want to shoot gets slowed it annoying. The others just slashed me up because of that. Some times I don’t even have to do a gun strike but it just happens because I click fire even tho I want to fire the melter.

Power Sword is S-tier, can't overlook the 20% dmg increase on that sword when switching it around paired with the other traits of the Bulwark and it absolutely steamrolls.

Heavy plasma is seriously bad imo, yeah it does good single target damage but it’s nowhere near as good as the heavy bolter or the melta, putting the bolter below it is criminal

Gotta disagree I think the heavy bolter isn’t as useful. It doesn’t have as much shots maybe. But the plasma will do much more on higher difficulty, killing the bigger enemy’s and damaging the bosses more. From my experience everytime a heavy ran the heavy bolter we often lost because the damage out put was lacking on bigger guys, or it was a close call where the vanguard and tactical have to carry with melters and grenade launcher. Often the single target damage is missing instead of the trash clear.

if you spam the heavy light light move with the knife you really get some crazy knockbacks in a horde that wont quite kill many things but it will give you opportunities for the qte gunshot too replenish your armor

I basically only use the meltas. There's too much chaos all the time for manual aiming, at least with a controller. Taking advantage of headshot bonuses just doesn't pan out most of the time.

Having the thunderhammer and melta in the same tier is interesting. Have you used them both at the highest difficulty? They're wildly different and the hammer is completely outmatched in every single way.

Thunderhammer's ranking was relative to the other Melee weapons. Pistols were likewise ranked relative to their pistol counterparts. You can't really compare melee to primary, its apples and oranges

For pvp, I just wanted to leave a sweet comment about the power sword for all my bulwark lovers- It is capable of 1 hitting and 2 hitting players with a single combo. Power mode running light attacks are roughly 35%- keep note of this. The power sword has an incredible light attack combo called a power whirl, which after the initial light attack, is a 2 hit combo, starting with a powerful 360° slash that moves you in forward momentum (This can be rolled or blocked out of as well) This will do about roughly 65% player health, but more importantly, players that are actively in melee combat with you, will be ‘interrupted’ or ‘hit stunned’ briefly, making the follow up a guaranteed hit if they are not already dead or making sure that you at least trade with the original person attacked- After the whirl slash, you end the two hit combo with an even stronger aoe stab attack. This attack will one shot a full health player if you land the stab directly and even within a 1-2 metre radius, but hits up to about 4 metres away. It is possible to running attack a player, follow up and finish that player, then move into the final attack and one shot another player. All while giving you the freedom to roll out or block out of the attack at any point,

Bolt Carbine also has a semi auto variant that boosts its damage, range, and pierce considerably at the cost of magazine capacity. No other weapon in the game gets altered so drastically with their other variants except maybe the bolt rifle which has grenade launcher variants which make it GOATed.

A lot of people forget. I see so many bulwarks not using it. You got to remember you can block most damage and bash when you get swarmed. Can really save you.

A part of the shield's problem is that for the 1st few levels it's only effective purpose is to prevent health/armor loss while running. You aren't really missing much until you unlock the perks. The bash is nice to create space, but it only works forward facing. In the instances where the minion hordes are approaching from every side, the shield doesn't really do much [again] until you get the perks.

There are only 3 good Main weapons, 1 good secondary and 1 good type of melee weapon. The best Primary weapon is the Multi-Melta (Heavy) it has mental damage and ad clear and with one of the perks near infinite ammo for ad clear. The second best Primary is the Melta Rifle (tactical and Vanguard) its just a mini multi-Melta that does the same damage and is on more mobile classes. The third best Primary is the Las Fusil (sniper) it has insane damage and range and can have its damage amped when cloaked with the snipers perks, The only good secondary outside of gun strikes is the plasma pistol (Bulwark and Heavy) the charge shot headshot is great for taking out Majoris and Extremis enemies at range. Melee is ass in this game as the damage output does not come close to the Meltas and really only serves one purpose, Parrying. For this use any melee with the fencing defence style to give yourself bigger parry windows for gun strikes and finishers.

Great video much enjoyment. I am going to put my gun nerd safety glasses on and point out, that bolt action (of the first sniper rifle) and semi-automatic are not the same thing. Especially in pvp, miss a shot and it feels like it takes forever to rack the next round. Other than that, Good job! Keep it up.

I agree with this tier list for the most part but the bolt rifle becomes one of the best weapons fully upgraded or even the purple variety is really good either the relic or purple version is good enough to solo operations. so my suggestion is maybe raise the bolt rifle to the S tier? There are some videos that showcase it and it literally shreds hordes, extremis and major enemies

The Melta guns are wonderous things and my go to guns, but I love the Heavy Bolter. It just feels cool to unload that thing into a horde of xenos filth. If only it had some suppressive effect, like being able slow an advancing unit after a couple seconds of sustained fire. It doesn't feel good to have your spray of bolter fire ignored by approaching majoris enemies.

Balancing the mobs needs to happen soon. Chaff hitting harder than majoris enemies completely kills the power fantasy. Nothing like going toe to toe with a hive tyrant for 30 seconds just to get 3 Shot by a zergling . Edit: to save myself from the inevitable super sweats that are gonna make rude comments. I truly do love this game, it just sucks that it’s more fun on difficulty 3 rather than 4 because of the imbalance of enemy damage.

If you're running sniper at any point, give the Stalker some love. It hits like a runaway train. Carbine basically needs to be upgraded at least once to be at all usable, too. Otherwise - well, any of the non-exclusive melee options and the Bolt Pistol. Once you get the pistol upgraded it can really crack some heads. Melta Rifle too, easy S tier.

So I just started but as someone is trying to main assault, I love the thunder hammer and I dont typically mind slow swing speed but it prevents you from dodging and you can still counter but you get imperfect counters with no benefit if your in the middle of chain swinging

The only gripe i have with the weapons and their perks is the lack of variety. Every single weapon wants you to go under 30% hp to do more damage, which lacks imagination imo. I'd wish they rework some of these to have more variety on how to activate damage buffs etc.

The magazine restoration is bugged on the sniper class, if you swap weapons you get 2 bullets back instantly, so basically i spam swap and have me 16 shots back. And of course you have to be 30% or lower on heath

Understanding that this is all subjective I'd like to say that none of the ranged weapons in this game (currently) feel like they belong in S or A tier. Melee always feels better, is more effective (if its just due to my preference, I can live with thar). The ranged weapons feel so bad most of the time I'd rather use melee. Of course, the melta & multi-melta feel good & are the most useful because hordes of minions are the most troublesome. Note: I play solo 90% of the time due to whatever problem their servers are still having. Above comment is based on that & level 20 classes.

There is no rush. There are only 6 pve maps and 3 pvp maps. PvP is fun but incredibly basic. Whilst in pvp gearing up to the highest difficulty where you’ll have the most fun can be quite the slog especially on the same maps over and over and over again. The Tyranids are fun to fight, chaos on the other hand is extremely tedious and boring(which make up half the pve operations). I was extremely disappointed with the Helldrake boss fight that’s essentially a match 3 puzzle game. Another chaos mission had me lining up a Choo Choo train. The games campaign & mechanics are really fun and badass but the content however feels half baked. You can definitely let this game cook. Darktide is still the better Warhammer co-op shooter at the moment & it’s on gamepass.

I can run difficulty 3 with a newb and the heavy bolter and get away with some minor difficulty because the heavy bolter has so much ammo and can mow down mobs at range very quickly. The key isn't about keeping your ROF up but using bursts to headshot heavier enemies and longer bursts to mow down hordes... you get a skill that increases your damage by 30% if the heat is over 50%... so get it to 50% and just hover over that... insanely good.

It is. Try healing contested health with a melta on 1 majoris - does not heal that much. But when used on a group, it heals more! So much more that is can sometimes bug and heal past your contested health limit - just like the Las Fusil can do when lining up 5+ mobs.

lmao, Heavy Bolter is actually the single highest DPS weapon in the game once you max it out. Trivialize's any boss when a tactical scans it.

@@dantalien6591 headshot damage, heat buildup reduction and use the accurate version. Against normal majoris just do 5 shot bursts to the head in heavy stance. Against terminus lock in and blast full force. If a tac auspex scan's and your not currently getting attacked, you can basically burn down the HT's bar by yourself in like 12 seconds.

@@SoulKingsss it’s insane. It is by far the best heavy weapon if you use a health regen build making you essentially immortal. Get the perk that make it so you won’t flinch on heavy attack on the heavy bolter and the one in the perk tree that increase by 15% the health regain from contested damage health. I can be surrounded by 4-5 warriors hitting me and not taking any damage

This weapon is slow to use, takes a while to build up and unwieldly, runs out of ammo really fast... So like most every weapon with low ammo count and niche uses in the game I am gonna put in the S-Tier!

chapter custimization needs to be better. space wolves need pelts and totems raven gaurd need their bird fetishes. and chaos custimizatio? c'mon man nothing? preset classes that just seemed like that got lazy and were like meh good enough
