Very cool. I remember those days. The Home of Future Living demonstrated what we have today over forty years ago! It is so hard to explain to those who are too young. There were still some things demonstrated that we still don't do yet but we are veryclose. It is gone now and the present pre-show and post-show experience is quite lame.

Thanks for putting this up. For me, this is better than a visit to Disney World. The current regime really ruined it.

How is the machinery of the lift hill echoing through the queue not overpowering the audio like it does today?

It was brand new at the time.

Could you tell us where in the queue are you and at what time?

He is in the entrance lobby where the narrator mentions RCA. The ramp the standby line currently takes was the only ramp there. The stairs for fast pass that were added in 1998 originally had a model UFO containing RCA’s mascot, Nipper inside of it. As he walks down the ramp into the star tunnel, the famous star tunnel music wasn’t added until 1984. Prior to that was the orchestral sound to RCA’s song “Here’s to the Future and You”. The stars inside the windows of the star tunnel originally held static models of various things RCA worked on such as satellites. As he walks further down, where the wall is on the left with current maps of galaxies, was originally ads showing RCA products. He then enters the zig zag corridor. The 5 windows in what is now the standby queue used to have narration accompanying them. There was no groovy moog music until 1984. It was all space station sound effects, just like Disneyland still uses in their version. Then he walks past the original safety video just as you enter the boarding room. For a while he aims the recorder at one of the speakers. It’s the exact same communication chat and sound effects Disneyland uses. He then turns the recorder off to ride then exiting the ride he hops on the moving sidewalk and begins recording the Home of Future Living post show all the way to the very end where you used to be able to see yourself on TV monitors.

@@OhLookItsJonBoy This was all a new experience for me. I always thought that the star corridor music and moog variant were there from the beginning.
