The announcer over the opening credits was Dick Tufeld. He made that great yell of Space Patrol on both radio and TV. The voice of the robot from Lost in Space among others.

I read an article about restoring the Terra 5. It was wood, with hatches made of eyelets- and painted yellow to look silver on TV.!

@@doddzemcbucket you know, for a 1950's kid show, both Carol, and Tonga were really not that bad looking. They both wore mini skirts as well. How on Earth did " Retardo ray" get past the censors?. I had to hear it twice before I thought it was real. How could the actors keep a strait face saying it?.

Was this show done live at KECA channel 7 in Hollywood? The announcer doing the first commercial looks like Jack Narz.
