I was too young or inattentive to remember anything but the doo doo doo doo of the spaceship. Also the scary aliens who looked like stalks of corn. Indelible childhood memories

Poor Marla, Colonel Rayburn just turns off her office lights when he's not talking to her. Seems they sadly didn't solve the energy crisis, and working conditions certainly got worse by 2100. Imagine having to work in that city with that thumping sound going all the time too, hope they cured migraines by then.
