That's a really well-constructed scooter! I've used a very much more basic version of this when I was a kid, but this is truly space-age! The brakes will make it possible to safely ride down steep descents also!

The breaks are not really effective. Only reduce the acceleration in down steep descents. The Space Scooter is very hard to use uphill but it's easier to ride and much faster compared to a kick scooter (or the kick scooter mode of Space Scooter x580).

Thanks for the video, it helped a lot my daughter has hardly used her scooter as she's not that keen on the rocking deck and I didn't know how to change it to use as a normal scooter. But now it's actually getting used instead of just sitting in the garage.

Thanks. This scooter is really fast in "bike" mode. But as a regular scooter is hard to use, because its deck is too high. I wish the handlebar was high, too.

Thanks! How are the wheels? Do they roll fairly easy? It looks that way on video, but it may be different actually riding it. Do they have a rating like ABEC 7?

The wheels are cheap. I didn't look, but they can't be ABEC 7. The rolling resistence is high.

@@bogdandebuzau thanks, they sort of look like a cheap set of wheels. I have a xootr now, rolls easily (abec7), but was liking this see-saw mechanism here. Seems a bit pricey for a cheap wheel assembly.

I have no idea. Sorry. I've bought this scooter from Romania. Apparently it's designed in China and rebranded under different brands. If you couldn't find Spacescooter x580, then you may look for an alternative or for a similar model, such as Rockboard or Hudora Wipp Scooter, respectively.

@@paularetanacordero6807 When you start it is harder to "push" the "pedal", but the strength is not more important than placing your weight correctly on the "pedal". Maybe it's all about the lack of training. Lubricating the chain could also help. I hope that it isn't a technical problem with this scooter. If you suspect anything like this, then you should ask for help at a bicycle shop. I'm not a bicycle expert. Sorry. My scooter still works fine. I've only kept it inside, away from humidity.

Watch very carefully, starting from 3:00! Push the rear side of the pedal completely. Then while pulling that trigger with your hand push the front side of the pedal completely with your foot. After that all you have to do is to bring the handlebar in the right position. There is a button that does that (I always forget which one, so I push all of them). I've made this video to use it when I forget what to do. It took me some time until discovering how to use it. It's a trial and error challenge...

great video. quick question: I'm just setting up the X540 for my niece and I can't get the back wheel to turn at all. I think it's got something to do with the little brake on it that's stuck on the wheel and I can't get it to go up (away from the wheel). The instructions on the manual are not clear on that part :( any help appreciated

I've never experienced this problem. Did you unfold the scooter? What happens when you pull the brake lever? Did you try to adjust the tightness of the cable? I hope you didnt't try riding the kickscooter backwards. This scooter can't!

Why not? It's a hybrid between a kick scooter and a bicycle. As long as you ride it by "pedalling" instead of "kicking" it should be legal to ride it. But the bike lanes must be in a good condition, because the lack of shock absorbers and the small wheels make riding impossible on "rough terrain". It also depends on the type of the "bike lanes". I don't know if you have more types in Netherlands. For example, the ones in this video are designed for any type of vehicle (motorized vehicles are forbidden in this park, with only a few exceptions), including vehicles used by kids. Even pedestrians have priority over any kind of vehicles in this area and can use the bike lanes in certain circumstances. But most bike lanes are designed strictly for bicycles and for other vehicles that are "similar to bicycles".

I'm sorry. I don't understand your question (probably due to the lack of accuracy of the translation software that I use). In "pedaling" mode this "kick" scooter is sensibly faster than a regular kick scooter. (I hope that this answers your question.)

I wish I had too much time... I've been trying for almost two years to learn how to ride a unicycle (as a sport), but I'm still stuck to the basic unicycling skills. I don't have enough time to practice on a daily basis (as I wanted) or for longer training sessions, both of them being extremely important for making real improvements.
