Hi Jorge, thanks for your kind words. While installing, you will be asked to choose a location for the folder; otherwise, it will be put somewhere on your system by default. You can redo the installation and choose a location you would remember. After that, you need to drag and drop a green GHA file onto your grasshopper canvas. That's it. In the same folder there are example files as well. I have a new version ready. Will release it soon. Please consider joining the group on the forum for updates, reporting issues and wishes.

Hi Paul, good question... by building a graph from axial lines using this component you can do all analyses on this graph as well. It is a bit slow in the current released version, but there will be improvements and additions in the version we are going to release soon (local analyses, faster graph formation process and a whole bunch of new components for plan topology generation).

Hi Rutger, a couple of our group members have shared their Kangaroo definitions for spatial layout. I think it would be more efficient if you follow this matter through our group on Grasshopper3D website. You will need to introduce springs for attraction forces and a force following power law for the repulsion forces. This is the basic idea of our 'force-directed' graph drawing algorithm. The interactions of these two groups of forces might lead the system to an equilibrium state and thereby result in a nice graph drawing. However, there is no guarantee for convergence of such algorithms in general. Ours is not an exception.

Hey Pirouz, incredible job building space syntax! its a very powerful tool. I am having a little trouble though, when i imput all my points (62) the program names clunk all up together and when i try to move each individual point further, for some reason some of the text scales to a larger size, is it a bug? Hey Pirouz, I'm really interested in the applications for this but I ran into some problems maybe you could help me with. I want to import agent groups from an excel sheet with different relation properties and use Space Syntax and Kangaroo to create a 4D relation diagram. How can I have multiple points with the same label and what would be the best way to implement the kangaroo physics engine? I really hope you could help me as I'm stuck on it for some time now. 1. Solution exception:Object reference not set to an instance of an object. I get this error when I change the boolean toggle to true for the force directed graph. What is the solution to this? Everything disappears in one of the rhino files.

Hello Kim, could you please check the list of answers in our forum to similar questions? www.grasshopper3d.com/group/space-syntax There are multiple reasons for this problem namely the impossibility of making a coin-graph drawing due to the incompatible radii of the disks with the graph structure; as to which you can try lowering the attraction and repulsion strengths of the force-driected graph drawing component (discograph). A common mistake is that people use strange units like milimetres for working with a building model and thus end up with numbers in very different orders of magnitudes in their GH and RH files. I would only use metres for Space Syntax studies.

Hi Jorge, I am seeing this now, you need to have an up to date Rhino and Grasshopper, then after completing the installation you get a folder where you specify during installation, which contains a GHA file and example files. You need to drag and drop the GHA file onto your GH canvas. Then open the example files. If something went wrong, please post your issues on our forum page: www.grasshopper3d.com/group/space-syntax

Hi Omar Chenge Said, thanks for your kind words; the Weighted Voronoi draws a Voroni diagram which can be weighted as to values associated to input points. It considers those values as radii of circles drawn from those points and the intersects them accordingly. Hi Pirouz! Your job is amazing! I'm starting to work with grasshopper in university and i`m really interested in a possible application of space syntax in social housing. So your work is all i ever dreamed. hahaha I downloaded your new release(2.7) but couldn't understand why the graphs that look like rooms (step 3-b and 4 in your paper) do not actualize when i change the value in the Gene Pool. Hi, the current version might be slow in handling big graphs. But 21 nodes should not be a problem. You can post your file in the forum, we will then check it. I suspect you have a non-planar graph and you are trying to get a bubble diagram out of our tools. Your graphs must be planar, that is, it must be possible to draw them on a piece of paper without any two edges crossing one another.

I did not define it myself, I got the name and the idea from a paper by Hillier, Hanson and Peponis in 1987. my interpretation is as follows: the higher the entropy the more difficult it is to reach other spaces from that space
