On the plus side, NASA does use SI units internally, with scientific organizations, and US and international governmental agencies. Unfortunately, most Americans are completely unfamiliar with SI units. Since videos like are meant to communicate with the general American public their hands are a bit tied. If it was up to me, I would switch to SI unites in these videos but add text overlays that converts the SI units to Imperial.

even the Moon is "iffy" at about 1.28 seconds one way. Nate - to LEO might be complicated if relaying out to geosynchronous and back, 540 milliseconds total.
