A note from us after all of the years again in regards to high-performance jet flights for civilians: Most of you guys never flown in a high-performance jet fighter, even not in a normal plane. To prepare for such an adventure mainly took 6 months in advance, and a lot of work was involved, including showing up that the client had a good health status. We sent out specific documents about all the facts & figures involved in such a flight adventure. And only if the documents were filled out and the med-exam by a doctor (or even in some cases by a flight surgeon) were given, the adventure could be booked. When a client did not take control of the jet by offering that by the pilot in command, it was his own decision. Most clients never sat in such a plane or even did aerobatics in their lifetime. In addition, by crossing the sound barrier, the blood pressure decreases, and so it could happen that a client felt a little bit tired. Also, some clients closed their eyes during aerobatics and found later out that this wasn't a good idea, much better to keep their eyes open to see all of that what was going on outside the cockpit so that the equilibrium system can work properly and can adapt on the unusual situation. We flew such fighter jets between 2002 and 2017 (then they stopped the flights for civilians), and there was not one client who vomit or didn't like the flight. Only one case appeared that a client had really struggled to make the pressure compensation by blowing through the nose, and later on, it shows up that he had the same issue as astronaut Alan B. Shepard has had, without knowing it. But even that did not stop him for to think about that that was his lifetime adventure. Humans are different in reactions and feelings. Some showing it, some don't. And those who flew, we helped them to fulfil their lifetime dream. Some of our clients wrote field reports or testimonials, which you can read here if you like: www.space-affairs.com/en/mission-control/testimonials/category:aeronauts If you want to see additional pictures about that all, it is worth looking here: www.space-affairs.com/en/mission-control/media-gallery/aeronauts Thank you, and fly safe!

Its incredible really. I have thought for a while now that in comparison to everything else, like ship technology and all the other things that have been around for thousands of years, flight is still primitive by virtue of the fact that it is only 115 years old. The advances towards the SR-71 was only half a century which was staggering. We just had to wait for all other technologies to advance far enough to be able to make flight possible. In reality it is at the same technological level as everything else now, but on its own, it is still a baby. Its a true miracle that things like the SR-71 were designed with slide rules and brain power only. Incredible achievements.

What an experience. I thought that my flights in a Sea Vixen and Phantom in the 70s whilst serving in the RN were special but to see this guy refusing control, shutting his eyes and declining the Tail Slide had me shouting "FOOL" at him. Too old to do this now but would have loved the opportunity. Bet he kicks himself for not making the most of it. Humans can be strange creatures. What a fabulous aircraft!!!! Oh to be young again. Great videos.
@Space-Affairs2 жыл бұрын
He refused some, but finally made that all. People are different, especially those who never flown in a jet before finding themselves then finally in the backseater cockpit of a MIG-29, react differently. Mike learned fast that it wasn't a good idea to close his eyes. And because he didn't take the stick was the reason for having respect. He wanted to enjoy the flight at any second, and he didn't regret only one second.
@johnalanread27512 жыл бұрын
@@Space-Affairs I understand the reasons totally. My comment was not meant to be critical but rather about how I personally would have taken every opportunity offered.. I remember the first time I saw the Mig29 at Fairford and was present when the pair had their little mishap. Thankfully both pilots ejected safely. The reaction of the first pilot to touch down was , I think, the very epitome of a fighter pilot. Cooly shrugged himself out of his harness , looked straight at a news camera , smiled and calmly lit a cigarette. Cool guy.. Reminded me so much of the Navy and RAF pilots I have met over the years. Always wanted a career in aviation but ended up as a Sumariner. Ce la Vie.

WOW! What a ride, and what a Fantastic aircraft is the Mig 29, a Big beauty that I think would be just great to fly, +‘aerobatics of course. I was surprised to note the approach speed on finals to land around 163 kts, I was expecting 180/190. Kts as the M29 is a Huge heavy aircraft! As I recall Anatoly flying the Mig at Biggin Hill air-display’s in the 90’s Gee he made that Mig talk, Really good man Anatoly! I haven’t been flying for a while, my Gosh I miss it, and to fly every day, O absolutely Yes yes, THE best job in the world!!! Thank you for sharing your video and splendid photography in cockpit’s shots. All the very best to you and your team Keep the tarmac active Sir. Fly safe and keep smiling. JB. Surrey. UK.

Most passengers do want to feel the flight in total. To control the jet means to concentrate on the jet, and not on the experience. Some of our clients refuse to steer the jet by themselves. Each flight is an extraordinary experience based on other reasons by customers.

What a stunning video! The pilot was terrific; calm, relaxed, friendly, outgoing, and a superb flyer. P2 clearly wasn't enjoying the flight by the look in his eyes and by not taking the stick. Most of us earthlings would had behaved much worse! I rate this five stars, not just for the exclusive quality and production, but for the uninterrupted clear sound of the crew and the MIG without those annoying hard rock guitars' others play echoing like porn music.
@Space-Affairs4 жыл бұрын
The behaviour of the backseater is normal because most people do not understand what does it mean to fly as a non-professional in a high-performance fighter jet. The feelings are different by any human. Some of them shown more fear, some of them were very quiet at all, some of them were talking the whole time. He enjoyed the flight totally, even he found out later on that he should not have closed his eyes through some maneuvres because he thought, that would help against motion sickness because that doesn't help. And some claiming that he missed the opportunity to steer the jet by self. Andrew had had too much respect and he wanted to enjoy each second of the flight with a Russian test-pilot. He came a long way from Australia to do so.
