Fun fact, turtles have nerve endings in their shell. Which is why turtles love toothbrush baths. They feel it like its an inhanced itch relief. So when Donnie was screwing the bolts to patch up Leo, think of it like your at the dentist getting a cavity out with pain x3 on your back, plus doing it multiple times for multiple screws, then the wound being pulled/pushed in a specific place.... Ya. It hurt like hell. 😐

I love to see how this persons comic all interconects. I’ve wached different dubs of ”the little things” multiple times, and one of them were cut in a way that made me belive that donnie exploded and died in the part where he fights the krang. Thank you for showing me this story in full! It’s nice to know that Don got to have one last interraction with his family.

You know...Leo might not have been the only one to immediately realize Donnie...went away. Either he used his twin sense, felt his heartbeat go away, or both. But considering the fact Mikey was hugging him as he slept, he probably focused on that heartbeat to feel him, and remember he was still okay, atleast for a little bit. But when it suddenly stopped...you know what happened. Raph, well his sensors from his mechanical form would probably be sensing his heartbeat too. After all, he was orginally the parent of the group. And again, when the beat was gone...I know you know what happened.

i like this because most people when doing apocalypse au's have Donnie die by something happening to his shell, like getting crushed or stabbed from behind. Which is still angst but maby got a little predictable. His shell is his weakness so it's an easy thing for writers to target. But this is the first one I've seen that made him get sick. It being unexpected, and the fact that the end became clear from the beginning-yet no one being fully prepared mentally when it actually came, Donnie dieing slowly and seemingly painfully, the entire desires itself almost resembling what desires like cancer could do- actually made it so much more painful to watch. I don't tend to get emotional at fictional things, but this did make my eyes water a bit. Such an emotional yet fantastic idea

YO EVERYONE I KNOW WHY DONNIE BECAME SICK ( mainly for those who dont know ) So, during the episode Casey reported that it was raining. Donnie and Casey ran out to see and found it was! Donnie went to touch the rain when his FINGERS got burnt by the rain. Later he suddenly became sick with no real reason of WHY he caught it. He knew what it was but didn’t know how. Well, when he showed the others his injury it was his FINGER that was injured and infected. ( connecting the dots? ) Donnie was killed by a poisonous rain that was made probably to kill HIM Ty for reading :D

Spoiler warning for the rest of CAS I think that the fight in 12:10 is why Donnie’s calculations about when he would die were off. It was an infection of both body and ninpo so when he used his ninpo to save everyone’s butts he sped up the progression of his illness. I don’t think he would have made a different decision if he had known though. He had to save them
