I am a beginner in Blender, but do you recommend modeling various elements separately when modeling a spaceship? For example, turbines, pilot's cabin, wings, etc

definitely yes, even put those in their own collection so you can easily turn things off and on, and keep it all organized. I also parent complete collections to an empty (one empty per collection), to make it so easy to move complete collections around in your model. Don´t try to make it all one giant complicated solid or something. When UV-unwrapping and baking you also want all elements to be separate, makes your life so much easier.
