You are wrong. Initially Boeing Starliner was the primary supplier and SpaceX the backup.

True. But SpaceX has since eclipsed them ... in spectacular fashion ... because they bought up all the best talent in engineering, at mgmt level and everyone above ... while Boeing, which used to be an awesome company has since been rotting from the top down for well over a decade now, because they hired bean counters who valued income over quality safety and reliability. Dont be confused by the fact that Elon Musk is an eccentric loon, because he has the best and brightest running the show in spacex. It makes a great cautionary tale about both extremes of corporate engineering philosophy.

And Starliner has proven to be the best bet they could make. Proven reliability with many successful crew missions, just perfect. ... more or less, maybe yes or maybe not ;-)

Is Boeing being charged for the SpaceX seats? $44Mil?

This turned out to be a SpaceX advertisement! How ingenious.

Look, this is crazy! The Boeing Starliner capsule was a good design ; BUT it was certainly way behind schedule and way over budget - to me, it was plagued by poor mgm't and let down by people involved in the project, that Boeing shud have fired but didn't - that the Starliner flew to ISS and in fact returned to land safely (without crew). That Boeing is now looking to sell the Starliner division appears the only way to get rid of those employees.

You need to take it completely out of the aerodynamic flow in reentry the control surface needs to be up on the top and then draw down when it's necessary to use it. By doing that you keep it covered with heat seal tiles that can rotate out of the way after the fact re-entry that's the the long fix. It's a simpler one redesign the capsule in the module carrying section into three parts. That will make everything a lot better and change the shape of your craft need to be more suitable for what you're trying to do. From a 70 man I worked a lot and did a lot of projects and preparing a lot of things but I've never seen something that needs worked on as bad as that Starship. You gave it all you can start again

So you think you know better than the hundreds of highly qualified engineers at SpaceX?

@@saito125 yea I do and like most people showing is better than talking. The problem is you ain't got enough money to hire me. The second thing is I do things when I want to cuz I'm retired. And money don't mean nothing to me. Helping somebody out does it's enabling thing to do. You got to learn how to design things for their functional they don't take the time to think about it so they just put aerodynamic problem into the vehicle they're trying to put through the air go back to the air blue space take your control surface out of the equation then you can put it in the equation when you need it when you're in the atmosphere after the atmosphere drag has already occurred. There's more ways than one to do that lower ways to scan a cat you have to think outside the box do I have to give you the plans

Everyone entitled to their point of view, but Maybe, mr 'armchair expert' should learn some english and build his own rockets, since he knows so much better than Spacex !
