What a wonderful piece! The hint of darkness lends this a subtle richness in tone to give the feeling of heavy calm. Listening to this was like walking into an old mossy forest as the Sun shines orange through the trees. The rain and the moss create a medium of softness in the sound around you and the smell of vegetation is rich in the air. Because of how old the trees are the calm and wisdom they exude is heavy and noticeable. It's peaceful there as if surrounded by great wise elders slowly telling their stories in their bark, their leaves, and the roots that run above and underneath your feet. Absolutely love this. This reminds me of some mildly sepia-town autumn forest in a distant age, long ago. Warm rain falls of conifers. Steaming mist raises from a living forest floor. This is not our world as it is now. This will someday become Montana... 70 million years in the future.

I'm gonna be a lot happier, however, when you get tired of playing with this filter overlay you seem so enamored with on these more recent fantasy pieces. It sounds to me like a kind of white noise rippling binaural interference pattern that's being layed in across all or most of the recording tracks. I get the point of using it, but it's turned up so high, it tends to muddy everything, and obscures the natural beauty of the ambience without adding much of anything. IMO, of course. Frankly, it starts to give me a headache after being subjected to it for awhile. It seems like the music would be more interesting and relaxing without it. From one musician to another, I'm well aware this is all a matter of personal taste -- and that is something formed by unique associations across a liftime of experience. So I offer this only as feedback, for what it may be worth. There may be others out here like me who have a similar response. Btw, I have the same reaction to so-called "binaural beats." Can't stand the stuff. It throws my whole nervous sytem off balance. With thanks... As always.
