You never really get a sense of scale for these boosters until you see people up next to them. Absolutely massive.

Not to mention the fact that it travels through the atmosphere at hypersonic speeds...

Damn! I had no idea they were that large in scale! Reminds me of wind turbines they don’t look that big then u see a single blade takes a whole semi truck to haul that one blade Imagine seeing this huge booster slamming into the ground at super sonic speeds

there was no tension on those cables when it closed that last 10 feet. The piston must pull it in.

It's fantastic we've reached a point where putting batteries and solar cells on an industrial tool is in some cases a better solution then messing with cables every time you deploy it. That's the trick here, it's not impossible to run a power cable up to that doohickey, but it's so much easier to just eliminate that procedure.

I remember watching your coverage of the early booster recovery ops. It’s been fascinating to watch and your commentary always adds valuable details.

It would be great if you could capture video of the Octograbber being removed to glean an idea of how it lock's to the deck. Thanks for your videos, they're always informative!

Its absolutely phenomenal of the technology that we have. I wish that there were more Elon Musk's in the world because I'm sure we would be further ahead than where we are now.

@Tom Geldon : True. I think too many people admire just musk. He deserves that because of his drive and vision. However, a lot of engineers and fabricators have made what SpaceX is today.

@Tom Geldon : It actually wasn't billions. SpaceX almost had to give up. At least for a while but they managed to get their first orbital delivery in time to secure contracts to keep going and build their reserves.

So is it just me or instead of venting the piston while you yank on it, hook a vacuum pump up and raise it that way.

When I see how all these people are just walking around and using steel cables instead of chains in lifting stuff, I fear the worst! This will result in people losing their lives! Wouldnt be suprised to read in the next few months that quite a number of people lost their lives @ spacex.
