Spacex Lunar Starship Launch and Moon Landing (Animation)

Against all odds Spacex got selected by NASA to build a new Human Landing System. Spacex is going to build the awesome Lunar Starship. This giant rocket is supposed to put humans on the moon by 2024.

This. Is. GORGEOUS. I only have one nitpick: an Onion will take the crew up, not a Crew Dragon ;). Really minor thing, the Starships look absolutely beautiful!

Crew Dragon is not rated to leave LEO. Orion takes crew to the moon.

To reduce damage risk, would make more sense to catch on other side of tower... then use crane to place it on the other side where the orbital launch ring is.

@@tijn_m I also wonder if there will be a crane on top of this first launch tower, after all they have cranes on site already. If a crane is put on top, IMO, they would simply place a commercial crane on top of the tower, one that is balanced, can rotate, etc.. why reinvent the wheel or spend more money?? Kudos on your animation, is the most realistic one I have seen to date .. realistic construction, surfaces, materials, etc... nice job.

There is an intriguing event at 2:03! Where did the small craft come from? Were the crew in that small craft? Apparently so. That means the crew didn't come from earth in the Starship!?! Would appreciate some clarity here.

Government program efficiency at its finest. Launch 2 million dollar per launch 100 ton capacity beast into orbit with only the cargo, then launch a 2 billion per launch rocket with a separate capsule to that same rocket, to put the astronauts on board then finally go land on the moon. Instead of just putting them on starship in the first place and going to the moon for way less cost.

Amazing anination, I have just one correction - the grid fins of the booster don't fold down. Musk explained it in a video, he said it has very low effect on aerodynamics if the fins aren't folded, and on the other hand, the folding mechanism adds cost and weight - so they removed it.

Starship fully fueled with only three engines can't get into orbit after separation because of gravity losses. And RVac can't gimbal

...All very spiffy graphics, none, so far, actually show lunar crew/craft leaving lunar surface, for return to earth... or did the program forget about that little detail??
