@@manumus11 It's good to have ambition, but sorry - such a spin won't be usable. The interior diameter of SS is far too small for rotational simulated gravity for humans. The difference in G-force between the head and feet will be physiologically intolerable. This is well established. The distance needed is much more. Several proposals exist to use a long tether (using the latest variants of Kevlar) to hold together 2 Starships nose-to-nose, but there are a number of problems with this. The distances usually mentioned are in the hundreds of meters. I hope this is helpful.

@@donjones4719 i calculated 60 feet to the end of the extension and to have 30% of earths gravity u would have to spin it 3.5 times a minute .. in other words ppl can sleep walk around do exercise in the extension and once they get to Mars they would be able to walk and start preparing things right away instead of freaking out after 8 months of no gravity i find its a good trade off !!!

@@manumus11 OK, my brain wasn't in gear, and I was imaging people walking around the inside diameter of the ship itself. Obviously wrong. So, 60 ft apart. But if I understand the physics correctly, the pod won't rotate around the ship itself but around the center of mass between the ship and the pod. The 'gravity' will be the same at either end of the arm of momentum(correct term?), so less than 30%. People on the ship will be walking on the "far wall," which will complicate the design of the ship. The center of mass will be significantly nearer the ship, resulting in a greater Coriolis force experienced by those on the ship - and I understand the Coriolis force is pretty problematic for humans at that rotation radius and rate. Actually, what percentage of the mass of the ship will constitute the pod and arm? But regardless of all that, some way to investigate rotational gravity needs to be developed. Most crucially, what's the shortest radius/fastest spin rate that human's can tolerate. And how much gravity is needed to maintain muscle mass, etc. I think we need a small 4 person facility that can extend and retract to change these parameters - almost certainly a tether or a tether reinforced structure. Crews could stay for, say, 3 months at each setting. This could be in high LEO or possibly at L1.

That being said though as the offshore oil industry is winding down we’ll likely see more and more people in the offshore construction industry looking for work so if it’s something they are looking to do on a large scale eventually (10s-100s of platforms) they might find it makes more sense to have their own in-house teams, or knowing Elon just spin off a new company and find innovative methods of doing it that no-one else has thought of yet 😂.

Great animation, but another little nitpick (sorry!). The Lunar Starship probably wouldn't have sea-level Raptors, either. Once launched, it's never coming back to an atmosphere, so it would probably only have the vacuum Raptors and the Super Dracos for landing on the Moon. Once there are landing pads built, THEN we'd see standard passenger and cargo Starships going there.

@MGazT At the altitude Superheavy separates from Starship (akin to the altitude the F9 separates from the second stage) only the vacuum raptors are needed - as the lunar starship never needs to return to earth, the sea-level raptors are not needed (which would be needed for the landing burn).

Great animation: one point - I think that if there are 4 tail fins & a square launch tube , there is no way that they will launch with the fins perpendicular to the launch barge - they will either use a circular launch tube or orient the rocket so that the fins are diagonal to the launch barge to minimise the clearance to the sides of the launch tube - in this animation there is far too little clearance [in my personal view] between the fins & the launch tube to allow for disturbance to the barge & thus the tube during launch

First of all I would like to be one of the many to thank Elon Musk for his leadership, determination and all of his efforts of helping humanity clean up our environment with sustainable energy programs. Also with his commitment of SpaceX to allow the exploration of space for future colonization. Our world is a fragile place that currently all of humanities eggs are all in one basket. By spreading our wings and being able to leave our nest we will ensure that human consciousness will live on outside of our planet. I was asked by A very wise man in the early 2000s, if I had millions of dollars to help humanity, what would the most important innovations be in business for all of humanity? I knew that the petroleum industries were polluting our air water and food to the point that people were getting sick and dying of diseases from those major fossil fuel pollutants. As we talked further and further about electric vehicles and transportation, solar power and other sustainable energies. He said I think you're right and it should be done because he as well had been pondering that question. He wanted to be thorough though so he asked if anything else should be focused on for all of humanity? I said yes and case of a global disaster whether it be a climatic asteroid strike or another world war I suggested that space exploration also be considered to prevent the collapse of human consciousness as we know it. Thinking back all of those years almost seems like a deja vu to where we are today. Again I can't think of anyone else but Elon that would put all of their Fortune on the line for the rest of humanity. With his consistant focus and extremely innovative leadership, he is leading the world out of darkness and into the light of the rest of our universe. So much yet to learn and do but thanks to the lead of people like Elon we can step in the right direction. We all have more in us to offer the rest of the world. So let's do it! This is the time and we are the people that will change the world! For those of you who like these ideas or have some of your own to offer, please let me know. I appreciate all of you and your comments. Let's shoot for the Moon and end up amongst the Stars! propower101@hotmail.com

Earth to Moon : Maybe the Starships could travel to the Moon by 4 Starships (1) Refueller Starship , (2) Moon Spacestation Starship , (3) Moon Lander Starship , (4) Moonbase Starship attached to 4 docking points around the (5) Main Propulsion Starship which would propel all the Starships to the Moon therefore using the least effort and fuel. (2) Moon Spacestation Starship left to orbit the Moon, (4) Moonbase Starship left on the Moon, (3) Moon Lander/Shuttle Starship being the taxi from Moon to (2) Moon Spacestation Starship left attached to the (2) Moon Spacestation Starship while the (1) Refueller Starship and the (5) Main Propulsion Starship returns to Earth Orbit or could dock with a sixth (6) Earth Spacestation Starship. The (7) Earth Lander/Transporter Starship would be the human transporter to dock with the (6) Earth Spacestation Starship or dock with the (5) Main Propulsion Starship which would have the (1) Refueller Starship and two other docking ports for other Starships which would then travel to the Moon. ; Seven variant Starships : (1) Refueller Starship , (2) Moon Spacestation Starship , (3) Moon Lander/Shuttle Starship , (4) Moonbase Starship , (5) Main Propulsion Starship (6) Earth Spacestation Starship (7) Earth Lander/Transporter Starship. Maybe someone can construct a graphic animation of this Starship proposal in order to visualize it more clearly.
