SpackleBucket Moto - Why I Chose JD Tuner for my KTM 350EXC-F

Modern bikes are at a level so far beyond what they used to be even 10-20 years ago. If my bike were an XCF or off-road "race" model, it'd have been left 100% stock.

@@SBMoto I'm picking up a used 500 EXC that the owner put an akrapovic exhaust on - so I think I may beed a tuner to compensate for the excess exit airflow

Great bike. I'd toss a JD tuner on it and call it a day. Unless it's got the euro mapping, in which case that works great too, or at least did on my 2013 350. 👍

How much does it increase power from stock?

According to JD Dyno sheets, 100% Stock is 36hp - 22.5ftlbs tq. If you open exhaust, remove intake reeds, and use the JD Tuner, you get up to 43.3hp - 26.5ftlbs tq. Makes sense on the EXC as it has that stock pea strainer on the end of the muffler. Comparatively, if you do those same mods OTHER THAN the JD Tuner you start at 38.2hp - 24.1ftlbs tq Suffice to say, its a very cheap way to gain some extra giddyup n go! JD has their dyno sheets on their site for image reference. Lemme know if you have any other questions.

I started with the default JD settings, but have tweaked slightly. I'll have to check where its all at though now. It's been a few years since I've messed with it.

Green - 6/7 Yellow - 6 Red - 6/7 Green/Blue - 6/7 Yellow/Blue - 5/6 Red/Blue - 5 More snap than I really need, especially right now with 13/52 gearing and the PMB exhaust end cap.

Even if you're a rider rocking a bike with a carburetor, you've got a tuner. Your tuner is analog (jets) whereas I've gone digital. Instead of spilling gas and unscrewing brass, I'm pushing buttons accomplishing the same task. Ride on!
