INGREDIENTS
1 lb lean ground beef
1 lb spaghetti pasta
25 oz jar marinara sauce
1 Tbsp dehydrated minced onion
2 all-purpose season salt blend
2 tsp beef bouillon powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 /2 tsp black pepper
1 1/2 tsp sugar
4 to 5 cups water
Cornbread INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 cups self-rising yellow cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 cup buttermilk
2 large eggs
1/4 cup cooking oil
2 Tbsp softened butter for pan
bake at 425 ° F for 20 minutes

The best part, aside from fewer dishes, is the fact that the starch stays in the dish instead of the pasta water. The sauce will cling to the pasta better when cooked like this.

Pinterest is a good place to find one pot meals as well. I found one similar to this. It was made with tomatoes, onions, spinach, mushrooms, and chicken broth. There were a couple more ingredients as well but those are what I remember. It was so delicious. Just remember that you're the star of your kitchen. Add and subtract to your preference. My go to is to follow a recipe the way it's written one time and then do what I want after that 😂 baking though you need to be pretty precise

I’m Italian but I even broke the macaroni, but just bc I’m lazy and only wanted to use one pot….if my father was still alive, he’d be shocked (and sometimes he told me a good Italian doesn’t eat meat sauce mixed in with pasta” I didn’t listen… sometimes you just gotta make “fast gravy” is what I call it, but at the end of the day, it’s good, comforting and we are all fortunate to be able to cook & eat. ❤

I just did this last night! But...I sautéed onion and celery, added burger, cooked then added a big can of crushed tomato instead of the store-bought stuff. That way I control the seasonings and salt content. Still turns out yummy!

Cornbread and spaghetti was unknown & unheard of to me 15 minutes ago lol but I am always open to trying new things out. That's why I enjoy watching your vids, you inspire me! when I make these "one pan" meals, I use a really large pan with a lid and any time I put the pasta with the water in, I cover and let it simmer for about 7-12 minutes and it turns out great each time.

My mom made her spaghetti this way and I've always cooked it this way as well. Now my daughters carry on the tradition. So glad there are others that make it this way too! I love it this way because the spaghetti noodles absorb the flavor of the sauce. My father in-law, who hated spaghetti, loved mine. I miss him dearly.

I made this last night for my daughter’s birthday and it was really good. The noodles soaked up the flavor of the sauce and meat - amazing. I tweaked the spices to my family’s preference but still used everything she did. I also doubled the recipe and did more of a slow cooked version of it so the flavors infused with the noodles longer. It was perfect.

First Thank you for your version. I did try it and it did make my sauce too starchy for me and my family. I did find uf you cook pasta halfway (if your pasta say cook for 8 min cook for 5min in separate) and then finish the next 3 min in the sauce for me was good. Pasta absorbed the flavor from the sauce but left the sauce still with a clean taste

In all my years of making spaghetti, I have never thought to make it this way with adding the water into the sauce and then the pasta and cooking it all together. I have always cooked them separately and dirtied two pans. There have been times I have passed on making spaghetti because I didn't have a second pan available at that moment. This is genius! It takes me hours and hours to make my sauce but I make a huge pot and freeze it in baggies that way I never have to make it your way. I use 9 lbs of 3 different kind of meat and about 10 spices and 3 lbs of mushrooms. But I get 10 to 12 baggies so that last several months. I take pride in my cooking. And it saves time in the end. The cornbread looked good.

Looks delicious! I typically serve my pasta dishes with a side of green salad, green beans or zucchini. Easier for hubby to digest instead of just straight pasta. And I can eat cornbread anytime with anything.
