They also had a lot of luck. 2008 both games vs. Sweden and Greece decided by last minute goals. Had to win a penalty shoot out vs. Italy. 2009 they did not win the Confed Cup. 2010 lost to Switzerland, lucky that Paraguay missed a penalty and their goal bounced in in a weird lucky way. That Kroos never found the net before Puyol scored. That Robben miss in the final. 2012 Spain had to fear group phase elimination until the late goal vs. Croatia. Again a penalty shoot out was needed to overcome Portugal. 2008-2012 was a very good time for Spain. But they needed luck because their lead was always tight. Best example is that in 2018 and 2021 spain lost penalty shoot outs and that cut their tournaments short.

He was a beast in his prime, just after this was his decline unfortunately. I worked at the casino and being the only Spanish speaking guard, I took care of the Atletico Madrid soccer team. I met Torres and got a photo and a signed bandana with a message. Im Spanish, to me he is one of my heroes in life. Its one of the best moments ive ever experienced.

He wasn't scoring a lot but considering the amount of time he got on the pitch it was a really decent ratio:) Oh it must've been a really special moment, I believe you! Ricordo che ne ero rimasto male, però consapevole che non ci potevamo fare molto. Vorrei far notare che quando i calciatori italiani hanno preso la medaglia d'argento, nessuno si è tolto la medaglia del secondo posto, cosa che invece hanno fatto i calciatori inglesi, alla finale degli europei 2020, dopo aver perso con l'Italia.

I don’t want to think about how time has passed. When this Spanish side was working over its opponents, I was learning from them and Messi. By 2014, I was playing top level football minus the required professional speed. Twelve years have passed. I haven’t played competitively since 2014. I feel old.
