Mi sugerencia personal para el verano: cornisa cantábrica, zona de Santander. Dias de gran humedad, subir a Reinosa, Embalse del Ebro, Pico Tres Mares. Autopista sin extorsión económica, si bien sugiero hacer el trayecto de Torrelavega a Reinosa por la antigua carretera. Reinosa y su entorno es una maravilla. Reinosa tiene dos estaciones: el invierno y la del tren.

The video image of the bridge caught my attention into watching this video. Great ride...neat tunnels, the bridge, scenic mountains and modern freeway infrastructure...what more could one really ask for in a long distance drive? Nice soundtracks too. Was this your first and only time driving this route?

I recorded this in 2015, but I visited the same area last year, when I went across the local roads and see the bridge from there. It's a very scenic area as you can see.

"Its construction began in 1975 and in August 1983 its first phase was opened to traffic. It was completely completed in 1997 with the splitting of the Negrón tunnel. The seven tunnels of the highway reach a length of 16,913 meters, representing approximately 11% of the total route. The El Negrón II tunnel stands out, 4144 meters long and located at a height of 1229 meters." (spanish Wikipedia). This route is a high mountain highway. Some winter I have had problems. Although it is seldom closed to traffic, it is wise to check the weather ahead or make sure of winter tires. The layout is very winding, dangerous and obsolete (1968 design). Today the mountains would have been saved with another circuit. You do not deserve to pay the 13 euros it costs.

Era la primera vez que este último estaba representado en las Cortes de León en toda Europa y en el mundo. I live in Leon, and I drive that road several times a year. It is true, asphalt at the side of Leon is not in very good state. This is a labelled a "High Mountain motorway", and there is not much traffic, since the old road is still in service and many people use it to save the toll fare. I do that myself when I drive from Leon to Asturias, since the road goes down from the Central Plateau and crossing the old mountain pass downwards is not much of a hassle (and the scenery is even better). I use to take the motorway the way back, that the road climbs up the mountains. Anyway, at the Leon side the weather changes are extreme, and temperatures can be well below freezing early morning and climb almost twenty degrees Celsius by noon Spring and most of Fall, with pretty much snow and ice in Winter. That degrades the asphalt very fast, and there is not that much traffic to pay for it to be kept much better. If you notice the Asturias side, where the weather is not so extreme, the asphalt is in better condition.

Cantabrian Mountains es como se llama en inglés a la Cordillera Cantábrica, cadena montañosa que va paralela al Mar Cantábrico, también llamado en inglés Cantabrian Sea. Antes de soltar comentarios maleducados e innecesarios conviene tener un mínimo de cultura básica.
