I think Xavi was player of the tournament. He was the fulcrum of the entire Spain team, it seemed like most of the chances produced by that tiki taka factory came from him. Villa was definitely the best forward of the tournament over Forlan and Müller though. Forlan’s amazing goals overinflated his value in that tournament, which was top 10 of the World Cup but not “Golden Ball” worthy.
