MALAGA (Spain) - United States faced a serious challenge but rose to the occasion to defeat hosts Spain 79-67 in the Final and take home the title at the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2022 for the the country's sixth straight gold medal
Jeremy Fears paced the Americans with 17 points while Ron Holland scored 13 points and Cooper Flagg added an outstanding all-around performance with 10 points, 17 rebounds, 8 steals, 4 blocks for an Efficiency rating of 30 for a USA team that took control of the game with a 22-4 run in the third quarter. Spain had already secured their best-ever result by reaching the Final for the first time and were led by Aday Mara and Hugo Gonzalez, who both had 16 points and Izan Almansa added 9 points and 15 rebounds.
The victory improved United States' all-time record in U17 World Cup history to 44-0 dating back to the inaugural 2010 edition. Sharman White's team won their seven games in Malaga by an average of 39.6 points, but the Final against Spain was a tough fight - one in front of a packed arena filled with nearly 7,000 fans.
Despite finishing second in the event, Izan Almansa of Spain was named TISSOT MVP and headed the All-Star Five. He was joined there by the USA duo of Cooper Flagg and Koa Peat, Spanish teammate Lucas Langarita and Ilane Fibleuil of France.
Turning point: Spain were leading 47-40 midway through the third quarter and withstanding each punch the Americans would dish out. But the floodgates opened as the hosts committed eight turnovers over a span of nearly 7 minutes and United States raced away with a 22-4 run to finish the third quarter ahead 62-51.

They made basketball less physical so european players could compete. They need to market basketball to a wider fanbase so they wanted more diversity in the nba. It's hard to promote the nba when it was %85 black.

Si los españoles tuvieran la mala leche y el fanatismo de los griegos o turcos, ese jugador no sale vivo después de haber provocado en casa del anfitrión al anfitrión en ka final. A mi se me pasó por la cabeza que siguen de la grada le tirada algo, a él y otros del equipo americano que no tuvieron clase y no supieron ganar.

Incluso con 18 van a cobrar en NCAA a partir de este año, lo nunca antes visto. Yo, que suelo dar caña a ciertos españoles porque solo se miran el ombligo con su fanatismo y chovinismo, y lo bueno es lo nuestro, aquí no tengo que tapar, quitando que también tienen sus cosas buenas, el comportamiento de Estados Unidos, que cada 2 x 3 los estoy "venerando" por su sistema de competición, cantera, marketing y demás. Yo tengo la bandera de ESpaña porque nací aquí, y día a día vivo la cultura española, y normalmente te sientes identificado, pero a la vez disfruto de la vida, del deporte, y cuando viajo, mi patría no me supone ningún impedimento, con lo cual llevo la bandera del mundo. Por eso te digo que son cosas diferentes. El fanatismo de no reconocer las cosas cuando tu equipo pierde, robos de arbitros y demás panplinas demuestra eso, pero esto es una cosa diferente. No defiendo a España porque sea español, defiendo a España o ataco el comportamiento USA es este caso, porque es chulesco, y de mocosos. Si hubiese sido al revés también lo diría. El deporte es para disfrutarlo y también comentarlo sean rusos, chinos, americanos o españoles. Yo no dejo de ver un tour de francia, una nba, o campeonato del mundo de atletismo etc, porque haya o haya españoles. Si hay, mejor, pero también si no hay, y tengo de favorito a otro extranjero porque me gusta, y no juegan en equipo, y van en individual, no tengo porque ir con el español por el accidente de nacer como yo en España. Que no hablaré ni estaré cerca de él en mi vida físicamente Y más, si no he seguido día a día, y al extranjero soy fan y me llevo informando y viendo sus partidos día a día o semana a semana durante años.

That is a pretty blanket statement. If you watch college basketball in the US, most play a full team game, as with some of the more famous NBA teams, such as the Warriors and Spurs. The heavy ISO stuff from the 90s and early 00s has mostly gone by the wayside. In any case, I saw plenty of passing from the USA. I think you are arguing based on a stereotype and based on the fact that US players could more easily get to the basket, so they didn't need to pass it eight times per possession.
