this guy acts like he is making millions of dollars. I get it but man suck it up. I have been following since day one and all the excuses. It's this or that or that or this. I think you need to do one thing: last a full season with a team and be their number 1. Till then, stop complaining
@slaybomb96Ай бұрын
I don't see him ever being a teams number 1 with his attitude. He talks so much about being a better "guy" and yet he has some serious commitment issues. If I where him Id retire from hockey and go into youtube full time. I can gaurentee you teams see that he doesn't play full seasons and that hurts his value in the long run. He's never going to be happy/satisfied if he doesn't give things a chance.

Nailed it. Always complaining. It’s sad - I’ve been watching for years, and was giving the benefit of the doubt, but now have to just admit, this is just him. AND - looking at his movement and fitness level, he has NOT recovered from his hip surgery, and his fitness level has taken a big step backwards. If his prospective teams watch the video - they’ll shy away. Sad, that his co-host also doesn’t hold him to account and ask a few more tough questions - 2 questions and then onto the Spanish food. Crazy. Get into his track record. He hasn’t played 10 games in a season - dating back more than 5 years. Ask if he’s really serious - or just a KZbinr.

Dude, you didn't do your homework. So many North Americans played there in the last year or two. You could've easily reached out to someone. Your decision to leave is nothing more than an egregious ego trip. You should have said, “In my agent’s defense, I have put the link to my EP profile in the pinned comment below.” And then you end with, “the hockey wasn’t good enough.” The way to advance your career as a goalie (when you are not on anyone’s radar) is to get in the game and prove that your current level is not good enough every night, for the entire season, every year. It is 110% about how you play, not where you play. I cannot fathom why you think quitting the team without anything lined up and getting on your podcast to say it wasn’t good enough is the better option. Beyond never proving yourself, from a developmental perspective, you need regular season game experience like you need oxygen. You need another private goalie session and unlimited ice time to get out there and putz around like you need a point blank prime Zdeno Chara slap shot to the groin on a day where you left your jock at home. The fact is that Spain is both where you deserved to be and needed to be. But since you are such a noble man, and since this is my true assessment of this situation (not just a “hate” comment”), how about you tell me something (instead of responding with “tHaNkS 4 bEiNg A fAn”) - give me an example of where you think you deserve to play and then point to the tangible result you have produced to earn it.
@michaellerchАй бұрын
I agree with a lot of what you said about ego and all that (that's the showmanship of the channel), but Trav is on borrowed time here. I think everyone thought it was a stretch and Trav took what he could get in Spain, but clearly this was not going to help him progress in his career and he does come across as a spoiled brat, BUT seriously? Take Trav out of the equation and put in any other goalie trying to seriously contend and Spain turned out to be a turd. I don't think he would have had good competition to prove himself. Trav needs big boy players (Fed or better) that previous wrecked him and to redeem himself or no one will take him seriously. He took a big risk with getting both hips done and should now be able to go further. If I were him I would likely have made the same decision.
@kyle4639Ай бұрын
@@michaellerch Okay, since I know Trav will not have the balls to do it, can you point to a tangible result Trav has produced to earn an opportunity to redeem himself against FPHL-or-better players?
@michaellerchАй бұрын
@@kyle4639 I don't know why but I was half expecting to see a quick witty reply by him about Sheath or manscape when you mentioned balls 🤣 but to answer your question I don't know that he has. He's trying. It's one of the things that makes watching him interesting as he's on the "Hero's Journey" story path to redemption. Everyone likes to root for the underdog. He might make it and beat the odds or at least go down swinging and open that Corgi Cafe. Who knows?

Not trying to be negative, but help me understand. -NHL -AHL (still pro, can make a good living) -ECHL (semi-pro, paid minimum wage, but housing and utilities paid for, so possible to still make a living. Lowest level associated with NHL teams) men’s AA. -SPHL some talent, enough to draw a crowd in some small towns, get paid a little, but not a full time job. Men’s A. -FPHL well organized, better than most beer league, (men’s B?) basically gives you some pocket change. -Mens/beer league (men’s C/D?) everyone else. If you’re not good enough to play in the FPHL, or feel you haven’t gotten a good chance to show you are, why not play in men’s league, tear it up, and then try again? Isn’t that what everyone else does? Play in the league below where you want to be and outperform everyone else.

Trav, your hockey journey could be summed up by slightly paraphrasing a scene from Annie Hall, where Woody Allen’s character Alfie is talking about relationships…..”Relationships are like sharks. A shark has to keep moving or it dies. And I think we’re lookin’ at a dead shark here.” Dreams die hard, Trav. But this dream you’re chasing was never really there. Go back to school/get into one of the trades. Buy/rent a nice place when you get a good paying gig. Play hockey for FUN in a rec league. Enjoy life. You’re a well spoken, funny guy - do a sports podcast (where you talk about “real” pro athletes). I do agree with many of the comments saying you have to EARN a spot if you aspire to climb the ranks to the pros. As a goalie (a reallllly OLD one) myself, even though I play rec, I still accept responsibility for my play. I don’t blame anyone else for how I play. You had a shot in Junior (whatever level that was), same in Sweden, the Fed gave you a few chances, the Spain “league” was whatever it was, and now you’re off to the Summit City Distillers in s league that is a FEEDER league for…….the Fed. Good luck, Bro.

Are you f*cking high dude? How exactly does a beer league tendie with dodgy hips and a terrible attitude fit in here?
@blank-n3w1Ай бұрын
LMAO - Trav can't even get a starting job in the lowest professional league in NA. You think he is anywhere near the level of the EIHL? The Belfast Giants have a goalie with NHL/AHL experience... Trav is a beer league goalie that throws the word "pro" when he describes his hockey experience. Any team in the EIHL would absolutely laugh at Trav if he were ever actually interested trying to play at that level

@@JudasOwens OK mate the let me explain using football as an analogy: Belfast are a 'big' successful club by EIHL standards and the EIHL itself is a third-tier pro-league. So a good comparison in English football would be Birmingham City - a traditionally big club, currently top of League One. Therefore Trav playing for the Giants is about as likely as a Sunday league keeper getting signed by the Blues, in other words never ever going to happen in a million years.

The top 4 teams in this league (5 when Barca is participating) are MUCH better than the bottom 3 teams. The top 4-5 are better than Fed teams. The bottom 3, including the team you signed with, are men’s league level and get crushed by the other teams. Very unbalanced league.

Keep your ‘positive/learn from it’ - mindset trav. Sounds like a complete joke of a team/league over there. And the concussion testing?! Wtf. Not okay. Honestly, I’m ready to message Chris nowinski … this is unacceptable in any league, any country. Keep your chin up. Good for you for taking the chance out there. If nothing else, it’s experience that will continue to shape and mood you for future circumstances. Cheers trav!

Excuses excuses excuses… I used to really enjoy your content and genuinely like you as a person, but I think you need to seriously reevaluate yourself as a man and completely reevaluate yourself as a hockey player… seems like right now neither of those is working well for you. Also, please don’t heart or like my comment Trav, sick of your generic responses and complete lack of self-awareness!

Why would any North American Pro Club give the time of day to a guy with a 11.25 GAA in his final two appearances of his FPHL season? His level was with Logrono in Spain.
