It's a masterpiece, been on repeat for the past 3 weeks. That song has been one a balm to a crux of global ills; namely war, power and the manipulation that both require in order to flourish.

omg I remember this being performed on TOTP in 1980 when I was about 10 - there was a genuine sense of excitement and we all talked about it at school the next day. Miss those days!

Interesting. I was ten and wasn't aware of it at the time. The earliest "new romantic" or 'New Pop' TOTP performances that I remember are late 1981, through 1982 - Soft Cell, Altered Images, ABC, Adam and the Ants. Simple Minds' TOTP performance of 'Promised You a Miracle' made an impression on me at the time. I can remember first hearing Duran Duran's 'Save a Prayer' - it drew me in. It was playing on a radio cassette player a bit further up the road from where I was stood, hanging about with maybe three other people. It was late afternoon on a summer day, and it lured me in, so to speak.
