This is where young kids need some better influence, yes weed is a wonderful drug, I know 13-14 year old kids strung out on filthy prescription anti depressants given to them from doctors, fucks them up just as bad as weed but because there’s so much influence that weed can’t do any wrong these young cunts who can’t even think for themselves yet don’t understand the negative effects.

Wombat is the one person who makes me feel ok about my mental health issues. It’s so easy to feel so alone when no one else around you goes through it. The stuff you talk about I completely relate and experience myself. I’ve honestly never heard anyone else mention about the OCD stuff with having to do the same thing with your body on both sides - This has driven me crazy for as long as I know so when you said that I was like WHAT!! And I know it’s not easy to open up about. ❤️

Had no idea what to expect with this interview. Very authentic back and forth, I really enjoyed it. I came up with a rapper from Glenorchy named Covert almost 15 years ago. Covert has some hell similar character traits to Wombat. Was weird coming out of addiction no idea what had been happening in hop hop really for 5 or more years and seeing this Tassie rapper had exploded. Listening to the songs on my days out of rehab blowing out.

Alot of respect to Wombat on his honesty on weed. Personally for me, it relaxes me, I can control it to one or two cones, no bongs, maybe a joint every now and then but even a full joint is too much I would get panic attacks, paranoia, fainty On the other hand you give me a bottle of scotch and I'll finish it in under an hour, get into a punch up, get arrested, fined, banned from places, the amount of broken phones and torn expensive clothes, damaged furniture, car crashes, losing friends...all of which has happened before by the way. Alcohol has cost me 10s upon 10s of thousands of dollars and I'm only 35. On the other side of that, I know people that can have one or 2 glasses of wine and call it a night, so that's no problem. It's about understanding what works and doesn't work for you as a person and that only comes with age unfortunately

The problem is not weed being too psychoactive. The problem is starting to smoke it at such a young age before your brain has had a chance to develop. Im 42 and have only started smoking in the last 7 or so years. Firstly, it helps with my multiple sclerosis symptoms, secondly i find it highly motivational and it helps me focus. Weed is not bad. Starting before you are a teen and abusing it is what can cause problems.

Definitely up there with the most entertaining guests yet. The 🦇 has an engaging personality. Always refreshing to see people turn things around & head in the right direction. Not wrong about the weed side of things either - it’s always on a case-by-case basis. Personally, I think it is largely dependent on what is going on in your life and your perspective. Abuse it at the wrong time & in a poor minset, you’re bound to see the negative side.

Fck me though, I’m obsessed with multis starting to think I’m ocd. I here wombats rhymes and competes and it makes my mind click. It’s what I respect the most about hip hop, the different rhyme patterns. I’m so glad Wombat touched on this, I’ve had a very similar experience from weed. Weed & meth are so detrimental when you’re predisposed to mental health issues.

Wombat is a legend, looks like the type of bloke you’d love to just sit and have a couple beers talk some shit with. In response to his question on Spanian writing, what would Spanian write about? His life is completely different to when he rapped. Very interesting thought.

I guess the MMLP Eminem dropped he was already rich and famous but still found lots of mad shit to write about, I’m sure Spanians got 1000s of stories , and also lots of Spanian songs he’s constructing hectic rhyme patterns and wordplay so I know he’s got a lot more left in him!!!! I’m just trying to get him in the studio one more time hahaha 😆😆

Yeah there’s comparisons to make ay I think Spanian is a bit different coz he’s had such a hectic life, a lot of it in jail and had that massive shift in perspective to get out and stay out. So he gets out and raps about criminality n the streets but now his material conditions in society have changed which will change your perspective on the world and how you want to be perceived or what you reflect on in your music. Similar to Eminem for sure in terms of how money and fame changes your life from the streets. Yeah definitely he’s so dope his skills are mad, definitely would be different yarns to tell. Hope he gets around it!

But I’m proud of whatever venture he wants to take I’m sure he’s going to blow up and have millions of Subscribers without music just because he’s got so much character 💪💪

I'm so happy he is being honest about it all and he able to manage it and get better, hope he continuies to move forward and continue ot be honest as other kids might be coming through similar things and now they will feel like someone understands them, weed and other drugs can be great for people but we need to educate people on it and not forbid and not act liek they are the cure for everything they effect everyone differenly and can help people but there is a good chance that he had pre existing conditions and weed increased that to happen plus also abusing it at a young age has damaging effects. "Several studies have linked marijuana use to increased risk for psychiatric disorders, including psychosis (schizophrenia), depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders, but whether and to what extent it actually causes these conditions is not always easy to determine.32 Recent research suggests that smoking high-potency marijuana every day could increase the chances of developing psychosis by nearly five times compared to people who have never used marijuana.113 The amount of drug used, the age at first use, and genetic vulnerability have all been shown to influence this relationship. The strongest evidence to date concerns links between marijuana use and psychiatric disorders in those with a preexisting genetic or other vulnerability"

There's some sort of relation between marijuana and these psychiatric disorders where marijuana abuse can lead to your brain establishing neural pathways related to mental illness symptoms earlier in life and continuing to strengthen the signals going along those neural pathways until you experience the negative effects like the ones Wombat is describing, even after cessation of use. The antipsychotic Risperidone has been found to nullify the "high" effect of THC in people prescribed it in large enough doses. If a medication designed to reduce psychotic thought patterns and turn down the severity of their signals travelling around the brain also has that same effect on marijuana, it's likely that they are hiting the same receptors in the brain. Something that needs to be investigated further, as the THC use may be warping the shape of the receptors or modulating how they receive or send signals around the brain in psychiatric patients who use marijuana.
