I hope this reaction and inaction from the Spanish football association will help every men to understand “why women let men do this to them”, “why they don’t speak up”. There is a power inequality!! You know when you are a woman whether your objection to any form of sexism will be respected or it won’t. In this situation, it is crystal clear how little the football association has these women’s backs! They knew it was an environment where speaking up would be to the detriment of their professional career. Hence they never did.

Honestly, it’s much to do about nothing ! I’ve seen the kiss a few times just to see if actually I’m missing something. All I see is two humans celebrating with a tremendous amount of euphoria a historical moment. I don’t see assault, I don’t see disrespect, all I see is two humans behaving appropriately for the moment. Would people had reacted differently if the kisser was a woman? Or another teammate? Are we becoming robots… ?? He knows he was being televised all around the world, do you actually think he felt like he was assaulting her? The more we look where’s nothing, we turn our backs to the real issues that affect women.

I always admired Craig Foster, not any more. He doesn't tell how the mens teams financially sacrifice for the womans teams. Also, he is pretending that the embrace was inappropriate. It was normal non-sexual, simple celebration by two adults.

You're missing a major factor: consent. Team-mates discuss (or should) what they are comfortable with for celebrations etc and team-mates trust eachother won't cross boundaries. That is the ongoing discussion of consent so if they are okay to hug, they have all agreed. There is a lot of work done in team sports on trust and respecting boundaries (especially soccer due to the many cultures/religions it spans). This act of his is a violation of both boundaries AND consent and she had no way to say no because he just DID IT in front of millions watching. On top of that, the Spanish football federation is now threatening to sue HER for highlighting the issue instead of threatening him to resign... That is just straight victim blaming for "complaining" about the act instead of punishing the guy who DID the act itself (and who still doesn't see anything wrong with it).

When I watched the celebration, I didn't find any objection from woman players. FIFA'S steps are authentic, but from players made me confused of woman roles. Anyhow we should respect women, they rolling somewhere mother, sister, daughter or wife. Women also should not be over smart like fashion.
