You that you've heard ir.rael, but I think you're hearing ih.real. At the end of a syllable an s can change to the English h sound, but it's considered uneducated.

'S' sounds are dropped in some dialects of Spanish too, or at least very much de-emphasized. In Buenos Aires for example, Borges=Borghe, puedes=puedeh, etc, even with educated speakers.

What about the words 'Juguete' and 'abrigo'? Do I pronounce the 'g' in this words as [g] or as [ɣ] ? (In your exemple the words started with 'g', but I'd like to know if there's any difference in the pronunciantion if the 'g' is in the middle, or in the last syllable) And the same question for the 'd' in words like 'acordarse' and 'adónde'. By the way, great job! I hope you post more videos!

In the four words you've mentioned, the soft D and G are used instead

The different pronuntiation of "b", "d" and "g" it's not necesary, you can be understood if you pronunce like plosive way

Gab, your Rule 1 has a little exception... unless you clarify that it is vowel + {nothing} / n / s, because endings like -ps or -ts (e.g. "robOts", fórceps) behave like the rest of the consonants which are not n or s. It might be interesting to mention that some words are unstressed (e.g. te, mi), and a few of them have stressed counterparts which have a stress mark (e.g. té, mí), and sound different.

Words in Spanish never begin nor end with consonant clusters. These are exclusively borrowed words, and follow the spanish spelling rules in their singular form (by removing the last consonent), and retain that accent in its plural form. ie, robot ends in a consonant other than s or n, therefore, accent is on the last syllable and remains so when the s is added to make it plural. Fórceps needs an accent because in its theoretically singular form it also ends in a consonent other than s or n. Borrowed words break other Spanish rules, for example, Spanish words are not spelled with w or k, proper names have no rules in spelling, etc, and are correctly left out of any Spanish lessons, just like the words hors d'oeuvres, déjà-vu, and crème brûlée are used used in English but would never be used to teach English spelling rules.

@@MaestraAingeru I'm awake of what you're saying, but the rule I gave is based on the orthography book of the Real Academia. Go talk to them.

What's the point of the accent on fotografia? isn't it saying stress the 2nd to last syllable, which already would be the case according to rule 1? (i.e. ends in a vowel)

Hm, telefono had a mark on the second syllable, but pronounced with an accent on the third (the o), so it didn't follow the mark.
