Do you use some kind of steel leader for them? I got bit off so many times the last time I went jigging for king mackerel using 90lb shock leader.

I do get bitten off sometimes from the big spanish but not always. Wire get's less hits. I use wire with livies and sometimes with floating baits. If you get bitten off too much use a longer knife style jig with a treble hook at the base.

Nice vid mate Just a quick question what made u decide to switch from the lowrance to the simrad ?

They are both owned by the same company and I was offered a Simrad to try out. To be honest, there's very little difference for what I use it for. Maybe if I was using Side and Structure scan and Autopilot and Radar I would notice but the standard High Chirp transducer sounding is identical to the Lowrance.

Thanks for great video. Can you please tell me what is fuel consumption on cruising speed an what is cruising speed. I am between this boat and boston whaler montauk 170 or 190 model i want to have less fuel consumption. I am really disapointed with whaler distributors in Croatia because everything is the problem for example you cant have sun lounge with cushions if you decide to choose fishing package its stupid and crazy the second thing you cant order other engine only mercury if you choose something else its to expensive, and third boston trailer you cant use in europe so many problems. Please help me what to choose. If you have some mobile phone its much easier for me to have conversation than writing😅

At 4400RPM it uses approx 1.8km per litre. This boat is one of the heaviest boats in the 19ft range. Dry hull is 930kg's. It's a much better offshore boat than the Montauk which is a bay and river boat, not an offshore fishing boat. Import the boat and use a local trailer like I did.

Also mate, just a quickie, I want to get into using jigs as an offshore option, previously, I’ve mainly used bait. Are the jigs the same as the slow weighted jigs you use for reefies & is it best to use trebles or assist hooks?? thanks in advance for all your guidance & tips😃👍🏼

I use 40lb leader for Jigging mackerel on the light gear and then 60-80lb on the heavy jigs, live and bead trolled baits.

@@markhill566 There's a lot of different jigs and styles. I suggest watching a bunch of youtube vids to get ideas as it's a complex question to answer quickly.

Those are King Mackerel, not Spanish. Spanish have yellow/gold spots Cero have yellow/gold horizontal stripes. King have vertical metallic blue/grey stripes.
