The food manners are so real and was definitely a culture shock for me. When my girlfriend and I started dating, I remember my mom made a left over plate of food that I grabbed and started eating before offering my girlfriend something to eat/drink as well. It wasn't even because she was hungry, it was simply out of principle. But in my culture/household, it's always been more common to ask for a bite of something when you are hungry. I definitely learned a lesson that day 😅.

Me encantó este video!! Qué tema tan interesante, aprender sobre las diferencias entre nuestras culturas. Le pregunté a mi amigo mexicano y está de acuerdo con casi todos de los ejemplos (vive en Nuevo León; pensé que tal vez dependía de la región en México). Parece que los mexicanos son mucho más amables que los estadounidenses jaja. Espero que algún día lo pueda experimentar por mi misma :)

I love listening to you two. I'm trying to relearn my first language. Sadly, I lost my mother tongue because I was teased even by my cousins about speaking spanish so i made up my mind at a young 3 yrs old not to speak it anymore. Anyway, i love listening about my Mexican culture. I had no idea that sharing food was a culture thing. I thought it was juat a general good manners that everyone knew. I was so shocked when i picked up another Latino family to carpool somewhere and they had all their snacks and drinks and ate without offering or sharing with my children or me! Now i guess it just isn't part of their culture!

Ah, yes, we must hug and kiss everyone! My little brother went up even to my grandparent's tax people who were at the house and gave them each a hug and a kiss because it was so instilled in us.

I love your podcasts but I don’t like it when you translate things into english you should be able to do it entirely in spanish there is no need to use english. when a child is learning their native language they dont have the benefit of another language to lean on yet they still pick up the language just fine. Also there is no need to point to your cheek and say a word and then say there is also this other word people are going to hear both words after listening to enough spanish from different places and know that there can be more than one word for the thing. It is better when you speak more naturally like you do for the majority of your episodes which I must reiterate are great and really help. I just wanted to feed back that I stop watching an episode when you start translating to english.
