Ben has a whole different personality when he speaks Spanish. I’ve never seen him this animated, enthusiastic and excited when he speak his native language. He has adopted a new personality and character for his Spanish identity.

@@franisla if you learn English from America, you will speak English with an American accent! If you learned English in Australia, you will speak English with an Aussie accent, like me! The same goes to learning Spanish, whether it is in Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Puerto Rico, OR Spain etc! You will speak in the same accent where you learned the language.

If you hear Ben speaking in English it's no different intonation than when he speaks in Spanish. Listen carefully. It might sound Mexican but it's his normal tone.

A tip I read somewhere on learning languages advised to have a specific "voice" for each language. So your Spanish or Japanese voice are gonna be different from your native English or whatever. Idk if it works but it makes sense. I find even my English accent and tone changes slightly depending on who I'm speaking with. I agree w you, but I think as he got more comfortable it sounded like less of a Mexican "character" he was doing and settled nearer his natural voice.

Everybody’s voice does. For example British people speak high but if you listen to a British actor do an American accent, their voice goes low and deep.

7:15 there seems to be a lot of mix-up. At first you quoted him as saying "lo hablan" (which isn't pointed out as wrong because "hablan" doesn't agree with "la gente") and then the quote goes away. Then, it comes back but it displays as "lo habla." Furthermore, it doesn't sound like he says "lo hablan", but rather "no hablan." At least to me.

Very interesting video. However , I do find it strange when you pronounce ' continous' as conteenus. I have always spoken it as ' contin-you-us" as I am British. Still I should not complain as English is not your first language. Plus I cannot succeed at speaking your mother tongue. Haha.
