In Zamboanga City, Chavacano is a Spanish-based slang language spoken by some native Zamboangenous that is being used as a Mother-tounge medium of instruction and a subject in Kinderder 1 to Grade 1 under the K+12 Curriculum. This is to preserve the identity of Zamboanga City as the Asian Latin City in the Philippines.

Love your reaction. It’s great to learn more about the beautiful Spanish language from reaction videos to this cover of “Despacito”. I’ve observed that Latinos who grew up in places like the US, UK, or other English speaking countries do not catch on much to Julie Anne’s mistakes. It’s probably because they each have accents that adapted to where they up and not as “unfiltered” as those in their motherland. It’s a treat to watch you explain the rolling “R” sound and other pronunciations.

Here in filipinas we pronounce the double "LL" as liya. For example LLAMEDO as liyamedo LLAMAS as liyamas VILLANUEVA as vilyanueva As what I've noticed our pronounciation of spanish words is much closer to the hispanics of america compared to the real spanish from spain.

We are not fluent in Spanish but since we're colonized for more than 300 years it's not hard for us to speak it because there are common words like salbahe kalendaryo but still when it comes on how to pronounce certain words we are still not perfect but still good job Julie🤗🤗🤗🤗
@kristianehussenmaratas69313 жыл бұрын
Spanish pronunciation in the Philippines was like mixed with Italian pronunciation because of the Jesuit missionaries who first established schools... the letter "ll" is quite different, like for example the word horse Spanish: caballo is often read kabajoh or kabayo. Italian: cavallo - ka va loh Filipino: caballo is kabalio. Although at present it has already evolved into just kabayò. But ella is pronounced elia... everything that has letter "ll" is pronounced "lia" A combination of Spanish and Italian pronunciation. Martillo, martilio, Martillano, Martiliano, alla, alia. alli, alyi. Maybe it is an old pronunciation.

We have a Filipino slang/culture called "jejemon" pronounced as "dzje-dzje-mon". It is derived from spanish laugh "jeje" (hehe) and "mon" for monster just like pokemon (pocket monster). It's a fairly new fad that instantly became a meme shortly after Filipino kids got introduced to social media. Jejemons intentionally mis-spells words to express appreciation, exageration, to confuse or just to have fun.
