Coming down on that running bowline just helped me a lot man. I work for someone who doesn't want to buy any more gadgets then needed. Thanks dude

You absolutely should be adding a wrench or using an appropriate SRT device when on a single line. If you were to have an accident and lose the use of a hand, you'll be bleeding out on a bound prusik if you intend to make use of a 'trick' that relies on two hands to achieve.

Good consideration, but pretty sure you could tend the prusik and and hold the tail in the same hand... Reckon I'd make it work if I had to!

Could add friction via a munters hitch on your upper rings wouldn’t be retrievable but would get you down

You could also put a carabiner on the trail end right instead of Yosemite?

Why do people say using a running bowline is better than a carabiner ?
@matthewneufeld8153
@matthewneufeld8153 2 жыл бұрын
One reason is that carabiners are not designed to be cross-loaded. If used to choke off on a spar, then you are applying bending force to it, and they are designed to be loaded in line along the spine. Also just choking off with a biner would probably be tougher to retrieve.

No offense meant, but if that's your question, you should not be attempting any if this. These techniques are meant for professionals who have received instruction in and mastered the basics of climbing.

why not use a flip line just the same as the prusic friction kit?? (I will have to go see if that would work)
