I’ve watched a few of these sparring sessions now and also a few of Ammaris matches. In all the sparring sessions ammari appears to be hitting faster and harder than his opponents, even where they are smaller and lighter, and using this power - rather than tactics - to dominate. Meanwhile the opponents are doing more experimentation, employing better footwork, etc. I think this is clearest against the fella with black gloves, who is hitting half as hard, but twice as often, and using much more variety in his technique. In his matches ammari is taking the same approach - walk forward, crisp basics, hard as possible show no expression….except his opponents are hitting back just as hard because they’re not deferring to the gym alpha. I know he’s won matches as well, but he lost the matches I saw, due to this robotic, power reliant style. IMO ammari would win more matches if he put his ego to one side, turned down the power in sparring and found other ways to succeed.

I just wanna point out something that somehow hasn't been said yet, the guy in the white gloves is literally walking forward like a robot and tanking all the hits knowing they're not going 100%(light), and he uses that against them, and answers with hard shots? i bet he won't go far in his career... unless he changes how he spar.
@ReignXCod

This is 100% true, just because people are good sparring partners and don’t hit you full power doesn’t mean one should be ignoring the shots as if they don’t exist.

I would agree. Being technical and being slightly less hard better both to learn or you can see your mistakes are basically not hurting each other to a degree. We get heads up any one who goes hard we always go harder. Liam Harrison goes less, less = more but every one to their own also depending when you're season is.

The 1st boxer w Orange shirt has a good defensive style and foot movement.Develop a powerful Liver shot,and fast Upper cut and a good inside leg kick as your combo finisher and then get stronger in the Clinch and get slick at tripping and throwing guys from that clinch. You will have a long sparring career without getting knocked out so much like an idiot that stands and bangs forever.

a lot of it is just down to time in the ring, you have to build some experience to build the calmness and conserve the energy. work on a good defence and put the time in, he can basically read what they will do and with his pressure it keeps them on the back foot guessing i suppose

I'm going to make a observation I don't know how good it is but it looks to me like this video here has a very Dutch kickboxing appearance to it is that right? Is that what these guys are doing The other ones on the pads look very Muay Thai style traditional but hey what do I know just a question
@SiamBoxing
@SiamBoxing 4 жыл бұрын
yes in the spar wars videos they are sparring in a dutch/k1 style. some of the guys in the videos have different backgrounds, muay thai, kickboxing, mma etc so its a combination of styles all mixing it together really. the pad work is muay thai / dutch

@@SiamBoxing whats your personal opinion on hard sparring? Ive had different opinions over the years but my current coach doesnt believe in hard sparring as much. We only hard spar when one of our biys has a fight coming up. That only happens 2 or 3 times a year. So therefore we only hard spar 2 or 3 times a year. We are a small gym though....

Those kicks looked pretty full power to me. As full power as you can get without them being easily telegraphed anyway. Also I liked the guy in the Reds head movement. He looks like a hard guy to hit.

Amazing sparring footage here!! I have a tip for a lot of people Go to the body!!Use combos that include body and face they do serious damage!!I see tons of people only aim for the head but no that's not the way!If you need any combos i got you... 4 to the body,lead hook to the face amd a cross to finish the job..Also lead hook to the body and 4 to the face..The key is to go upstairs and then downstairs
