It's too bad that such behavior is not only accepted, but applauded in 21 states in America. Teachers who administer corporal punishment stoop down to the lowest levels of professionalism. I would like to remind everyone that corporal punishment or paddle handling is not even taught in college. You have to wonder where they get this type of behavior? Proud Spankers try to enter intelectual debate, but when asked the hard questions like, where did they learn proper spanking techniques, they shutter away and turn to other spankers and tell themselves those farrytales, I got paddled and I turned out fine, I'm glad for the beatings I recieved, they did me no harm, one hand washes the other. Ive got combo treatment. So the teacher used to make me do Uthak baithak... for every uthak baithak i did i got one whack with the cane on my bum whenever my bum came down😓 Another package was getting imposition by one teacher and caned on my bum by another on the same day...so while i used to write impositions at home i had to stand up rubbing my bum with the left hand and writing the impositions with the right hand.

The best punishment for not doing homework should be to make the student do that homework twice. Corporal punishment isn't required in this case.

Well, that depends on the state and district you are speaking about. All you have for argument is adhomidums attacks. As for merit buddy, let me know why the APA, NASP, and other groups oppose corporal punishment in schools. Experts have told us it is harmful time in and time out, but we seem to turn a blind eye and deaf ear to it. As for teacher consiquences, their is nothing in the definition of discipline that says hit. All it models is bad behavior and hitting is okay.

These kids will be psychologically and physically damaged by these extreme measures of punishment. This is not related to discipline but only fear. Kids would be academically hindered for fear of the teacher and the cruel system of punishment-similar to forms of torture. squeezing a pen between the child's finger, for example, could seriously damage the child's fine motor skills which would affect his ability to use his fingers or hand for writing. Why torture children? ...no reason at all!

I don't see what Christian beliefs and jungle magic have to do with corporal punishment. BTW, if you must know, such "benign" acts of ear-pulling incidents in our Indian society have escalated to malicious incidents in the name of CP. Recently children have had their eardrums ruptured, beaten to a state of coma, and an 11 yr old girl died of heat-stroke when she was made to stand in the sun for not bringing her homework. Great for our society, isn't it?
