I was right on the verge of buying the PG Riff as an interface when I saw this video clip of Nuno playing the spark2 and the launch video where he said he uses it as his warmup amp backstage and that was enough for me. Preordered the Pearl Spark2 and it was delivered today. Found a couple of decent Nuno tones on the tonecloud but no "BettenBrown".... Endorsement over already? 😮

Having heard everything Nuno has done with Extreme and his solo stuff hundreds of times, I can't say I recognize that from a particular song. But he does quote some other songs during the video as you might have noted. My guess would be that it's a riff that hasn't made it on an album yet.

So now you got a good reason to buy the new Spark 2 that now finally comes with the option to use with several hours of battery life and 25% louder 50 Watts volume, this bluetooth amp will be a gamechanger :D There is no other amp this good and feature-rich for people wanting to learn to play guitar. Yeah, it says it's performed entirely on Nuno's, "Betten Brown Sound" Preset. I'm sure it will be in the Tone Cloud, if not now then at some point. Maybe it's just exclusive to Spark 2 Amps. Or Maybe both amps will have access to it. Who knows. Guess we'll wait to find out some more info.

They need to update there presets . Friend of mine buy one and total junk. Dig how they give so many names when its the same drive. Only one ob amp was usable. The reverb sounds like something u would throw in the bin. And many others

This upgrade is absolutely great in every way except for one MAJOR FAIL!! Apparently plugging into the new stereo/mono line out mutes the internal speakers in the same way plugging in headphones does. This is gobsmackingly weird. I mentioned this to positive Grid who replied "this is the normal way amps with line outs operate". Um.... NO IT'S NOT!!!

I purchased the Spark guitar amplifier at full price, only to find out two weeks later, without any prior announcement, that the company released a new model at the same price with additional features. To make matters worse, their marketing now portrays the old model as obsolete. I ended up with an outdated model in just two weeks, with no resale value whatsoever. As for the company's promotion offering a discount to upgrade to the new model, it's simply laughable and insulting. I've lost trust in this product, especially since the company has not responded to the emails I've sent. I believe this product is not worth it anymore, as the company itself has devalued its resale value.

So here's my copy and paste.. One of them I put on Facebook. Absolute deal breaker for spark amplifiers. First off coming to you as a certified network and computer engineer, audio engineer, lead guitarist, singer and I play all the instruments. Producer. ( Guitar luthier and tube amplifier builder ) Over 35 years of experience!! First off.. they need more pedal positions. For instance if you use an expression pedal Jimi Hendrix WAH WHICH RIDICULOUSLY YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR!! you have a compressor in that spot now you can't use the compressor.. After you take that spot where the compressor was should be able to move it over I'LL HAVE AT LEAST ANOTHER SPOT FOR THE COMPRESSOR!! Or treat it out for the distortion box to the right. YOU CAN'T DO THAT EITHER! You can't take the phase 90 and put it in front of the amp like Eddie Van Halen did The phase 90 at the back of the amp any situation with the spark sounds like garbage. 2nd ( You can't turn up the volume knob on any amplifier TO INCREASE THE POWER AMP DISTORTION LIKE MODELERS HAVE BEEN DOING FOR 20 YEARS!! ) You can only turn the gain up.. And we all know the game controls mostly the preamp section.. which is a buzzy fuzzy type of distortion which most guitarists don't like! Do you want that heavy metal crunch. Without using pedals in front of an amplifier you need to be able to turn the amplifier all the way up to push the preamp section into the power amp section to give you that power amp distorted crunch sound!! So the only solution. Is you have to put a distortion pedal in front of the amp like they used to do. Turn the tone control to make it bright to try to tighten up the sound. This is acceptable but not a good way to do it. It sounds better the other way JUST LIKE EDDIE VAN HALEN DID CRANKING THE AMPLIFIER ALL THE WAY TO GET ALL THE TUBES TO DISTORT THAT AWESOME POWER TO DISTORTION!! Then Eddie basically used a MRX EQ to take out some frequencies so it wasn't too bright or to bassy.. How can they not add this to these amplifiers!! There's no way to do it I've done tons of research.. can't turn up the amplifier all the way. The volume knob on any amplifiers just THE LEVEL KNOB FOR THAT PRESET.. I'm not talking about channel volume The physical knobs on the live and the edge.. I'm talking about the preset volume!! Doesn't do what the amp is supposed to do with it.. THERE IS NO LOOPER.. we all know we've wanted a looper for years now. They purposely didn't put in the live that's only been out for like a year they PUT IT IN THE EDGE BUT THEY TOOK THE POWER OUT OF THE EDGE AND GAVE IT TO THE LIVE!! Completely nickel and diming you. People they will not give you everything because SPARK IS TURNED INTO A PHONE COMPANY!! THEY CONSTANTLY WILL WANT YOU TO UPGRADE AND NEVER GIVE YOU EVERYTHING ALL IN ONE UNLIKE GREAT COMPANIES LIKE LINE 6. Line 6 Helix you could do anything. In my opinion is the best amp modeler out there. It's been out for 10 years.. they don't try to nickel down you they continue to give you updates FREE!! Move pedals around.. change microphone spots, change microphones. Plenty of processing power. AND THEY'VE BEEN ABLE TO DO THIS FOR 20 YEARS EVEN WHEN THE FIRST POD 2.0 CAME OUT THAT ONLY COST LIKE $150!! It's ridiculous how spark controls you. Obviously on the line 6 products for years and years. you can also turn up the volume on the amplifier and it does what it's supposed to do it clips the power amp section. If you want to change the preset volume IT IS CALLED LEVEL!! Completely different than the volume knob on the amplifier. Whole point of amplifier modeling is to replicate these amplifiers exactly how they worked in real life LINE 6 HAS DONE THIS.. and even more parameters that you could possibly imagine. Don't give me spark is a ( practice amp ) so was the line 6 pod 2.0 25 years ago and it did this stuff! They went kind of professional when they made the live and the edge. But they didn't add features of true personal companies have been doing for years. Touch a scam... I bet you they will add them and eventually IT'LL COME OUT LIKE NEXT YEAR IT'LL BE THE LIVE, OR THE EDGE AND NOW YOU GUYS CAN CHANGE THE PEDALS AROUND TURN UP THE DISTORTION IN THE POWER AMP STAGE LIKE A REAL AMPLIFIER!! AND YOU'LL HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER AMP FROM THEM! It's unbelievable seriously!!

It’s wild how you're 'certified in everything,' yet you can't wrap your 35 years of experience around the fact that Nuno Bettencourt-actual guitar legend-is out here shredding on this 'junk' amp while you’re here auditioning for Keyboard Warrior: The Movie. Maybe Positive Grid didn’t design the Spark specifically for you to recreate Van Halen's entire signal chain in your mom's garage, but Nuno seems fine with it. If you need a NASA-grade looper, power amp simulation, and a tiny amp that’ll make you coffee, cool-grab a Helix and move on. Meanwhile, the rest of us will just enjoy playing guitar instead of typing novels in comment sections. P.S. You might want to Google 'gain staging' before yelling about buzz and fuzz again. It’ll help. 🤣

If you noticed he never switched to his neck pickup because these amplifiers sound so bassy.. One of the reasons why is because you can't turn the power amp section up in these amplifiers like line 6 has been doing for 20 years to get the power amp distortion you're stuck with the fuzzy preamp distortion. The volume knob on these amplifiers don't turn the power amp section up of these amplifiers to distort them it's just a preset level. Total deal breaker tried every amplifier without putting something in front of the amplifier which is also very limited. The sound was never good The better the speakers the worst the sound is I bought the mini to be portable and use it as an acoustic guitar with my electric so I can play backing tracks to replace an acoustic guitar around a campfire Not loud enough but it stripped out a lot of the garbage sound because of the small little stereo speakers.. When I tried the edge the same preset sounded like garbage. Nothing I can do to fix it no matter what amp no matter what AI preset I tried Coming to you from from a engineer tube amp builder guitar luthier and lead guitarist that plays all the instruments and also sings. Spark is all about marketing. I'll explain it better with a copy and paste of what I wrote to some other people.

Ah yes, the 'engineer-tube-amp-builder-luthier-multi-instrumentalist-lead-guitarist-singer' strikes again, armed with his battle-tested knowledge from the 'Amp Forums of Mordor.' Funny how Nuno Bettencourt-an actual pro-made this amp sound incredible, yet somehow you, the 'Certified Everything,' are defeated by it like it’s Excalibur. Maybe instead of blaming the amp for not bending to your will, you should consider this: it’s not the Spark that’s limited-it’s you. If your '35 years of experience' can’t tweak a usable sound out of a practice amp, then perhaps your ego is louder than your playing. P.S. If a campfire is your barometer for tone, maybe stick to an acoustic and a singalong-sounds like that's your sweet spot.
