So i live in Lake Tahoe. South lake to be exact. I had a 2010 sea doo rxp that i converted to a single turbo. I built the exhaust manifold myself, haltech management and coils, deutschworx injectors, gtx35, the list goes on. They outlawed anything older than 2014 now in Tahoe. So i sold my ski and trailer for $7k. It had a TON of hours and definitely isn't a machine ANYONE can own you pretty much have to be a wrench to enjoy it. So i have 7 grand to buy a new ski. Everyone is telling me to buy the 90 hp sea doo spark and trailer. Im a Yamaha motorcycle mechanic at the local dealer here in Reno, Nevada. Ive been racing sport bikes since i was 15. Ive been over 200 mph more times than i can count. So to say i leave things stock is like saying Teslas get shitty gas mileage. Can you see the spark aftermarket/performance scene getting big eventually? Like turbo kits or superchargers? Or should i find a big bad turbocharged Yamaha machine thats a few years old?? Any advice would be much appreciated. Im NOT a water guy, like i said ive raced sport bikes and motocross all my life. So i dont know shit about watercraft especially these days.

if this is the same Art i think it is, then the watercraft and snowmobile community lost one of the truly good guys. i got to know him in the late 90's. he had a small shop in the middle of a farming community north of toronto. i would get my machine shop (cylinder boring) work done by him. a couple of times i got back my cylinders with a mild porting job at no extra charge. i would go up to his shop to drop off the cylinders and leave like three hours later. he was so full of knowledge and very willing to share it. a really good guy. rest in peace Art.

Get ahold of a Vtech E85 race tune for the Spark. That along with the suggested supporting mods wakes that tiny ski up like holy shit. There is no gasoline tune that can touch that E85 race tune.

Not so much the carbon seal but the carbon seal's boot. It loses its ability to put pressure on the disk. Every 5 to 8 years would be good.
