The drapping on the shoulders was a total mess. It wasn't perfect as they didn't fall in same way togather. Some were up, down and diagonal😒 This designer always draws so well then the dress she makes turns out so plain and basic😞 I mean I like the top tho but that is not Russian princess her price is too much for what she makes. I prefer say yes to the dress dresses😤

@John Sargeant which is why i said that when i hear plantation, id want to hear more about its history before signing on the dotted line. Im gunnaa make an analogy here. Its not perfect, but I hope you will work with me on understanding the point that im trying to make. Scruffing my nose at the thought of slavery is no different than me scruffing my nose at incest. Both had their place in history and allowed us to build the world we live in today....however, a better understanding of culture, medicine, human nature, etc. allows me to know how wrong of a choice both are to the people involved and to society at large. Its growth. Theres nothing wrong with that. If you think thats wrong... or unfair- pls tell me why. Also, id like you to consider this: calling me an idiot or full of white guilt after a few line comment is really no different than all the others who call people "racist" or "bigots" over equally as nuanced of topics. You dont know me. If you gave me the time of day you may realize i have more value than you are giving me credit for. Lastly, while my comment was intended on speaking only about the instinct reaction felt when hearing the word plantation (without condemning her choice... only saying that id need more info before getting on board) I did immediately do some googling about the site after. While i can totally empathize that this is a good choice for her, as the location has been the site of several movies that we can assume is her type (ie the notebook)..however, the site not only had west african slaves, but they have made it a historical site to visit and learn ABOUT the issues with slavery and the work that these slaves put in to making it what it is today. Really, our concerns were not without merit. While not all plantations have a troubled history, its reasonable in my book to want to know these things before agreeing to a location.....just as id want to know if a house i was considering buying was the site of a triple homicide....ya know what i mean??

I don't really like the straps on the top or the beaded sleeves. The beaded sleeves don't drape correctly across the arm. The dress looks unfinished overall.

I thought it looked cheap. The straps looked poorly constructed as they didnt fall in order correctly. And the "sparkle" looks like it was just beaded diamonds sewed on it... instead of it being a planned sewing. This designer is a joke.

I was underwhelmed and as someone who really appreciates designers I wanted to like this dress. It feels unfinished and when I thought sparkle I thought Pnina or Lazaro encrusted bodices and sparkly soft tool. This designer seems to do soft and elegant, but these dresses seem more casual than bridal. It is funny because her own wedding gown was expansive and sparkly. Like what?

I WANT her to do a great job So bad. It's disheartening to witness her dresses not being as impressive or well-received as store-bought! BUT here's the thing. The dresses created for this show are basically prototypes, the first time the dress was constructed from the initial design. The fanciest, best selling gowns in stores have gone through multiple fabrications and redesigns and tweaks to make them finally look as good as they do. That is a big reason why in comparison, this designer's dresses seem to need "more".

that style had potential. imagine it with really delicate beading on the bodice instead of that chunky mess, and the chains on the shoulder with something, a little pendant maybe, to weigh them down so they don't get tangled. and the neckline wasn't flattering on her. it needed a lower back and a lighter skirt.

This dress is really down played , she said the whole bodest needed to be sparkly and it wasn't and the skirt wasn't really big or flowie, and there wasn't the lots of texture that she spoke about when drawing the skirt.
