The gear area they were fighting in was probably an illusion of Oath of Judah's Zeroth Power.

I think the desert is part of the Thelma and Louise theme from the end. Two crazy ladies driving off a cliff.

@ottovw Finally someone else calling the obvious Thelma and Louise reference at the end.

Lore things I noticed - "Where did they go, Nevada?" It's probably an illusion of the ruins of Venus! "where did the sword come from?" It's Sparkle's toy hammer that she balances a ball on in her idle! I guess that's why Sparkle doesn't have that idle in Honkai Impact now. "What are those Gears? From Fate?" - they're either Oath of Judah's Grace Field, or they're something stolen from Emperor Rupert's mechanical empire. (Or Sparkle's REALLY gone far away to get them from the Fate universe!). Sparkle probably thought it looked cool and used it. "Did she almost get crushed by those gears?" - This is actually kind of ironic - Sparkle was waiting for Vita to get there, and didn't want all the elaborate clockwork going off early - so she probably just literally jammed herself in there so the clockwork would pause until Vita was ready to get started as well! I'm not a big mech anime fan, but apparently the entire mech sequence is replete with references to other mech series, from the Gurren Lagaan spiral charge up to a dozen Gundam references. Someone else mentioned that there really wasn't any stakes at play here - it's Sparkle's illusion and thus Vita can't really hurt her, while Sparkle can't really hurt Vita, even with a giant cogwheel, which really was a dirty shot. Honestly, calling her 'Sa' probably had more of an impact. Apparenlty Sparkle "borrowed" the mechs from somewhere, so they were actually possibly 'real'. One thing that I loved is that Sparkle is so much more physically active, both with own movements, and her mech movements, *but* Vita clearly shows her up - while Sparkle's mechs are very dodgy, their only attack and defense is to move and shoot, because Sparkle doesn't actually know how to use a mech or other people's powers - as a former actor, Sparkle is just really good at mimicking other people's movements and mannerisms to use in her illusions. Vita, however, does in fact know how to use a mech, and she uses her Starfarer to really show Sparkle how a mech should be used - using her flying bits vs Sparkle's shots, taking them out with giant sword attacks to wow her and finally activating a giant wave cannon to blow away the illusion. Having said all that, I think Sparkle was the real winner here - she's clearly only fighting to put a smile on the overworked Vita's face, and actually managed to achieve that by the end of the cinematic!

Ahh yes! I’m remembering that in one of the Acheron trailers she became like 3 Stellaron Hunters throughout the fight, she’s too cool

And Vita is literally chilling most of the fight, that gear might have surprised her for a bit but she didn't even use like 20% of her true power, otherwise her mecha would be at least double the size.
