I need more practice with using a variety of ways to correct the sentences. After you point out how to fix the sentences, it makes perfect sense. When I start writing on my own, I constantly use run on sentences and comma splices because it's how I think. I have noticed that many years ago people used run on sentences and comma splices all the time and even the very learned people did this. Then someone or a group of people, decided we needed to study English. Have you ever noticed that different teachers of English have differences of opinion about the rules? This makes English all the more difficult and confusing for the serious student.

I did identify most of the run-on sentences. Hooray! However, I missed the fact that the second sentence was not a run on because it's not two independent clauses. The remainder I corrected properly even though they varied a little from your examples. Jennifer, you are teaching me the science of English, and I'm very grateful.

Run-ons is a sort of informal English Language; I regularly see it when people comment on social media; therefore, it leaves me in a very confusing mode. This video is eye-opening.

Thank you very much for another excellent lesson! 🤩I didn't understand the use of the word "seconds" 4:00 And I was going to ask about the meaning. But just before sending my question; I thought a little more and understood the phrase 😅 - Ramón 🇲🇽

Although today is Saturday, Maria decided to wake-up extra early, so she could meet her friends outside the Mall. As predicted, the weather is absolutely beautiful for a day we have been planning for weeks. As her friends begin to arrive with excitement, it was difficult to decide what to do first. As we began to end our day, we decided to do this again very soon.

@@SparkleEnglish I feel honored by your comment…❤️ My astuteness is like water; it always seeks it's own level; but nevertheless, having to be invited too abridge something you masterfully planned out, was gratifying… Thank you for giving me the opportunity. Note: Sometimes, a ghost-writer edits a writers work; especially when it's been rejected by a publisher. In college, I watched student reactions by becoming overwhelmed by the most simplest thing when it comes to being rejected for their writing. I thought through these most disheartening moments, by solidifying the most key elements that need only, to be rewritten. Mostly all of my college work has been recorded in a National Register… I'm certain you understand what that means; if ever a time something I've written pops-up in a college setting. I do love your channel and thanks again…❤️
