You might have contaminated the hose and the water by not following the safety instructions inside the manual.

I heard the old top load dispensers are more reliable because they don't need a water pump.

You don't touch the hose that goes into the water bottle. Or else you're contaminating it.

There's also a screw in the back ( Flathead screwdriver required) to adjust the temperature for colder or less cooler. Side note, the handles were re designed to a shorter version. We had problems with the cold side breaking.

I've done exactly what you did and mine doesn't seem to work. I did know hear any noise coming from unit when I plugged it in. This is my second. The first unit I had did not stay cold for more then two days. Now this one doesn't seem like the motor is working. Have anyone come across this issue?

Alex A there is a switch when you lift the door up. it’s on the right side where you load the water bottle

If you don't turn on the hot water switch room temp. water will come from the hot water dispenser.
